We rolled into this area on January 23 looking to stay a week or so to let some more Texas warm up some before moving north. If we get rolled in the morning that week or so has turned into six weeks.
The walking loops in the state park have been fun for sure. Being here during spring breaking loose was a nice add on. However there is one really important item. EVERYBODY from this area and downstream to Roma Texas has been extremely pleasant and nice. If you head upstream toward Zapata it has not been as nice people or food wise.
If you plan to get yourself some good food, definitely head into the Roma area. The food there has been consistently very good and the service wonderful.
In fact it has been so pleasant that the Teams have this area on the list of places to seriously consider for a two week stay next spring.We think we can easily find another two weeks of trying to have tooooo much fun here in the south Texas brush land again.
