Right Eye Condition Report

Adventure Location: Decatur, Al

Today's Date: 11-10-2022

We got in a 2 mile walk and a trip to the grocery store before we headed out to the eye doctor for the evaluation about going on with the cataract surgery on the left eye next Thursday. The symptoms the OFM told the doctor were all normal and expected. He did ask for details on a couple of things but they were still just normal items during the healing process. So the final decision was to follow through with the left eye on next Thursday.

The eye doctor office was packed today and we ended up spending about 2.5 hours there. We are still very satisfied with Dr. Foster and his treatment of patients. His willingness to explain in great detail is commendable in our thinking. The, at first, over pressured eyeball was still at a decent pressure of 18 mm today so we are cutting out one of the pressure treatment drugs starting today to see how it works out by next Thursday.

The OFM also asked for clarification on the situation of injury to the right eye. The doctor went into some detail of what he found but declared it healed and ready for service as a normal eyeball. In other words the eye did get some abrasion trauma during the accident but it had all healed to where it was not a problem anymore. We were glad to hear that. His prognosis is that we will get all our eye site back by when this mess is over in a couple of months.

All this adds up to if the healing goes normal and our new glasses get prescribed and ordered in normal fashion, the OFM Teams could be rolling in mid January with no restrictions about trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. Sounds good to me! Now, just watch out for that chair. Let's not have any repeats. And you'll love the colors you see when the cataracts are gone.

  3. So glad to hear your eyes are healing well and the operations are on schedule for your anticipated leave-taking in January. I on the other hand, will be home in January-healing a knee replacement, likely for the next 3 months. Scheduled for the end of December this year.
