Morning Peace

7/7/23

Firewood

Adventure Location: Decatur, Alabama

Date: July 7, 2023

Another interesting day started early. The rain last night gave the OFM a chance to see where the latest water leak was coming from. So early this morning the OFM was back on the roof except this morning the roof was slippery with the morning dew and a layer of tree residue. So extra care was required. Naturally the ladder to the roof is mounted on the rear and the leak location is at the front of the trailer. It made the OFM glad again that he lives in a 20 foot long box. Anyway we made our way over to the spot. Then the solar panel was loosened on one side and tilted out of the way. Out came the paper towels and we got the location cleaned up. Then the caulking was applied to the suspected spots. The solar panel was put back in place and the OFM headed VERY CAREFULLY for the ladder down. We made the transition down well and safely. The OFM balance was not as bad today as the last time we were up there. Hopefully that got the job done.

Nothing bad happened the rest of the day. In fact it was nice in that we got our medical needs appointments all set up for next week. That should take care of our eyes and teeth for another year.

Long walks did not happen as it was hot by the time we got all the morning chores done. However twice today we did make a walk to the other side of the campground to the dumpsters. That is about a fifteen minute walk and it seemed to be a good recovery distance after yesterdays heat event.

The next major chore is to do a check of the Castle and Sierra for braking performance maintenance. At least that chore is done from the ground. If we roll again we plan for it to be after the Labor Day Holidays.

There is a very nice fellow working at one of the plants along the river that lives here full time. He seems to collect a lot of firewood as you caan see by this picture.

At least our mail is still flowing well and we soon should be caught up on ordering things we need or want for our lifestyle soon. A full time Rver needs to keep toys around to play with you know. They help when we are trying to have tooooo much fun.
