The morning walk started in an almost cool temperature and slowly warmed during the walk. In addition there was a nice gentle breeze for the whole 3 miles. Along the way we saw several instances of natural pruning of the trees.
None of the limbs seemed to have done any damage to anything of value.
The OFM chose to stay on the paved route and not accost the puddles in the gravel trail closer to the water. It made for a nice walk and the breeze stayed with us the whole way.
When we made the turn at the soccer field, the OFM did a quick stop when he saw this.
The road surface was covered with small hail it seemed! Then he looked closer and realized the crepe myrtles were shedding their white flowers onto the road. After saying out loud “You stupid fool” we went on with the nice walk.
Two things happened in the afternoon that were good happenings. The first is the OFM put together a sketch that he is trying to paint with Neocolor II water soluble crayons. It is a slow going effort for sure.
Then the second important item was to find out how to set up the camping for next summer's trip to Grandkid land. We caught the campground manager and got the real story on how to achieve our time here in 2022. Since the long term ( over 2 weeks) area is not reserveable and is first come first served. The procedure is to rent 2 weeks in the reservable area on January 2. Then when we arrive five months later, we turn in notice that we want a site in the long term camping area. IF one happens to come open AND we are next on the list, then we can pay for the site and move over to it. The unused nights in the first site will carry forward to the new site so we will not lose any nights here. What that means is that we will not know if we will be here next summer or not.
But that nonsense is not going to stop us from trying to have tooooo much fun.
ReplyDeleteSheesh. I do not understand that system for getting a spot in 2022. Made my head swim.
It is not user friendly.
