Nothing much today. Nice cool walk on the usual trail. Campground filled to overflowing by mid afternoon. Salad at Lawlers for lunch. Stopped at the open field and hit a few golf balls. Came back to the Castle and got in a nice nap. Spent a good while checking on the Covid mess over in New Mexico and Texas. Worse now than yesterday. Visited with a few folks around the campground. Ate supper. Checked more on the Covid mess. Typed this drivel as a blog post. How is that for an exciting day of trying to have tooooo much fun.
Yes...there is a covid mess in Texas. I don't know if you're talking about the availability of camping spots, but the prevalence of covid is not good. I live in central Texas in a county of 30,000. 10 people have died in the last two weeks (half under 70) and the local ICU is full; has been for a while. Vaccination rate here is just now creeping up to 35%. Lots of people don't get the vaccine.
