ADVENTURE LOCATION:
DECATUR, ALABAMA
POINT MALLARD PARK
DATE: AUGUST 1,2024
We got a good start this morning with a walk over to the dumpsters and back out into the main park and over into the campground by the back entrance on over to the Castle for about 1.2 miles. By then the hot humidity had the OFM covered in sweat and it was time to call it quits on the exercise walking for the day. Now we had lots of time on our hands for figuring out things to do. So we spent most of the day finishing Good Morning Sunshine.
Then it was piddle time again. We are trying to roughly plan a more specific location and time for our first few days on the road again. We know our planned first campground is Martin Creek SP in Texas since we enjoy the place and it is kept very nice and clean. $17 per night with Elec and Water. A dump station for that necessity. That has been our standard stop for several years. when heading west on I-20. All kinds of good supply spots are near like Walmart and Whataburger and a good Mexican food restaurant. The walking opportunities are excellent also.
Decatur public schools started back today so the grands probably are all excited about all the new things they have in their lives. They love going to school to get involved in everything they can.
And now with it being summer is over school wise and the day time store crowds should be smaller, the OFM can do a better job of getting him and the Castle ready to go exploring again.
Good night every one.
Though your grands had an earlier start to summer than those around here (July 1). Here they return following Labour Day. Hope the empty stores make for having tooooo much fun.
