Today's story is RAIN and HIGH WINDS and LIGHTNING and THUNDER for most of the day.

At one point in the afternoon the storming let up a bit and we went out to see what damage was being done. No damage showed up but lots of street flooding was scattered around to keep your attention lively.

Down on the beach there was even ponds of water from the rain still sitting on top of the loose sand.

Early in the evening the storming moved on and the OFM Teams went out again to check out what we would find. Still no damage of any account. A walk out on the rock pier showed that a tide change or two would have things back to normal for fishing. That will give us something to do tomorrow.

While at the pier we photographed the sun being held back by the palm trees as it was trying to set. Hopefully tomorrow will be a nice day for trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. Well, all that blew through here last night, and didn't amount to much. Farther south, yes. My gentleman friend drove down to Rockport today, and reported being on the beach at Port A around 6. Said the waves looked a little high. But he's not a talker. Been a while since he's been down there; he hopes to fish. From your experience, will it be a good fishing time, or not so good?

    1. Since I never fish Port A I cannot help. It is right on the Gulf of Mexico and the ship channel.

  4. JudithK: I get a weekly email from TPWD and it said there was reds and trout at the PA jetties and trout in the surf being caught with live mullet and croaker. Barney, get ready for some BIG fishing days Sun-Wed as I'll be at MISP chasing them away (hopefully to you). They should have a big appetite from all that laughing at my attempts to catch them. Plus I don't do live bait so that will really help.

  5. That is quite a dramatic sky in your top photo. It reminds me how the sky can sometimes be more interesting than landscapes. Storms are a good reminder of why our ancestors had gods that were in charge of storms. "Thor" is no wimp.
