The rain woke the OFM about 0445 this morning. A quick check of the radar and he headed back to bed. A couple of hours later he awoke, opened the door to the Castle to see the glory of a waterlogged campground.

And it kept on raining in light to heavy intensities all the way to nearly 1700. At least the river was low enough that the water could run off out of the campground.

With serious determination the OFM managed to get the laundry done and put away. Then to our surprise he headed for the grocery store and completed acquiring everything on the shopping list and put away. He even cooked three big chicken breasts for meals in the next few days. WOW.

After late lunch he checked on the weather radar for here and found this “wonderful news”.

We have strong probabilities of rain for 6-7 more days.

He went to work on a painting that has been in progress for several days. It is a mixed media painting. The components are colored pencil, watercolor pencils and Neocolor II crayons.

The paper is a new type for us and it worked really well after we spent a lot of time learning how it responds to each different medium. This was a brand new style of painting to us and it shows. However it was great fun even if it did take about three weeks of effort.

That was a lot of new experiences but learning new things is what keeps the OFM going. The big plus was it was a great way of trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. The "West Texas Sunset" is so beautiful you should spread it across the page. I wanted to click on it to enlarge but no go. Nice art today. I think it shows when you find the supplies that are fun for you. With that much rain, I think you'll be adding to the gallery. Have fun, OFM!
