With the lake as low as it is the trip to Box Canyon boat ramp area was interesting if not exciting as you will see. You drive through several miles of standard west Texas desert scrub brush to a small community. Then follow the signs to Boat Ramp.
When we got to the parking area it was all rough rocks and gravel. With the lake so low there is a volunteer “road” down out on to a peninsula that is out of the water for now.
Sierra was parked at the top of the hill since we had no idea what waited for us down the hill and around the corner. It was a nice walk and enough breeze to help keep the OFM less hot.
Once we cleared the high brush line it was all barren rock and troublesome walking on all the loose rock. After we got near the end the OFM took a picture looking northish.
Then we walked on out to the end and took a picture looking to the southish.
The OFM meandered around a bit but it did not look inviting for any activity. It is apparently used a lot because the rocks sticking up all over the place had plenty of tire rubber marks on them. A few boulders looked like they had oil pan marks also.
It is not a location we will be coming back to for trying to have tooooo much fun.
