Adventure Location:
Decatur, Alabama
Date: October 9, 2023
This morning we awoke early but decided to wait for the area to warm up a bit. It was 64F when we headed out to what turned out to be a very nice long walk of at least three miles at a good pace. Nothing really special happened all day but we got a few nice pictures during the walking.
This is where a small creek empties into a large slough going to the Flint Creek drainage. It is about ten feet from the edge of the road that encircles the golf course.
About a half mile on down the path we caught an egret on an early hunt. That bird stays in that area all the time.
Along the trail when sunshine was starting to show better we saw this nice scene and decided the world needed to see it. We usually do nit sit here but the location is just right for lots of folks who walk here to use it. The view is nice and usually the breezes are gentle and pleasant.
And this spot really caught the Teams attention. The twinkles from the early morning sun really made this location stand out this morning. We think we make this a header photo in the next few months.
With all the contact with the general public lately we are not surprised that the OFM is feeling like he has caught a respiratory illness of some sort. So we plan to lay a bit low for a couple of days and see what develops.
In the mean time we will enjoy planning what to do when we get the Castle able to safely travel in the next month or two. We have rolling itch but have no idea where we want to go but the weather may make that decision for us. We want to be well and rested for trying to have tooooo much fun by then.
Scroll that egret picture right and it looks like the Loch Ness monster pictures... :-)
