The cold definitely rolled in last night and kept a heater running on the 500 watt setting most of the night. We checked at our summer location in Decatur Alabama and it was in the high twenties. NO THANK YOU.

The OFM did not do a lot of running around today. That gave more healing time to the bad foot. It seemed to help. But we did do a bit of driving around hunting for a picture or five to put in the blog. Down at one of our secret fishing spots only known and used by about five thousand folks a day, we got a couple of pictures of two birds and the low water in the bay.

The two birds seemed to be discussing the cold water and lack of minnows for breakfast. The intelligent white bird is down behind the bulkhead out of the cold wind and in the sunshine. But the tough Rambo bird is on the top of the bulkhead showing off how tough it is. It does not really look all that happy to us.

We left them to sort it all out on their own.

Until less than a week ago we had this view from our do everything table in the Castle for three months and it was nice.

In the last four days the view has changed to this and is making us want to get on down south to some more spaced out camping like Mr. Boondork of the http://www.theboondork.com/ blog.

These folks in the trailers/mh are really nice folks and good folks to know. They are all very careful to keep noise/ music/Tv etc to a minimum. We would just prefer a good bit more room between rigs. So as soon as the foot allows us to safely roll on down the road we will be gone elsewhere trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. Finally getting warmer here and hopefully heading your way. You're like me. Serving our blogs keeps us active 😄 Hopefully the foot gets better soon.

  2. As long as it keeps getting better a bit each day, I am content since OFMen don't heal fast.

  3. Hope the foot is better soon...yup, a bit too crowded. And that is one cold looking heron, hunkered down with his frills blowing in the wind.

  4. Happy New Year Barney! That looks like a Tri-colored Heron in your picture above. It sounds like it is cold in your part of the world. We are experiencing about 35 degree lows in the morning with 65 at the height of the day. Getting ready to head to Florida next week. Should be fun. I hope to see lots of interesting birds for sure. Glad to see the foot is healing and you are out and about. Cheers!
