Good grief it was a busy day. For starters today we sorted out some extra paper we have around left from Christmas events. The pile ended up small but very good stuff for paintings.

In fact we were so inspired to try the cardboard/paper that the OFM actually laid out and painted a small painting in about five hours. It surprised us to see him work that hard. But here is the result.

By then it was lunch time and away we went to Whataburger in Aransas Pass and right after we headed to Walmart for a couple of items. While there the OFM decided to exercise his sore foot gently walking the aisles carefully. Lo and behold we stumbled across a package of Gouache paints in the art section. We had been hoping to find a cheap set of that stuff for several months and finally there it was. So it went home with us. $12 will be cheap education.

Back home we did some more straightening up, washing dishes and pre-preparation for supper tonight. Then a little experimentation with the Goauche paints. It will take some education for the OFM to use it correctly.

A nap felt really good and seemed to help the bad foot to stay off it for the half hour. The foot is healing and it heals better if the OFM takes it easy running around on it.

Supper tonight was a pork chop salad. The chop was cooked last night and cut into half inch cubes. Tonight it had a wad of lettuce mix, black olives, celery, tomatoes, and some I forgot what added. Honey mustard dressing drizzled on it was a nice finishing touch. The beverage on this cold outside night was Swiss Miss hot chocolate.

Yep it was a pretty decent day for a crippled old fat man trying to have tooooo much fun.

  2. So an improved foot, some new paints (I was given some gouache, but haven't tried them yet. Will be interested in what you find out), a painting actually done, and some warmer weather on the way. Things sound pretty good down there.
