OFM Splatter Location

Adventure Location: Rockport, Texas

Today's Date: 4-12-2022

The OFM was definitely on the injured list this morning. AND the number of places that hurt had increased over night, like the outside of his left hip. However none of them were severe, just significant enough to be careful about them. Blood leakage was basically non-existent by wake up time. So breakfast was eaten and we headed to Memorial Park and the easy walking path there.

We got parked and checked the map to chose the route that gave the most short cuts back to Sierra if things went less than perfect. The route was only a half mile but it turned out to be just right. It also had a few benches along the route for resting if it was required. It was. This is a typical bench arrangement for the picnic areas and drop the table for the other resting benches in the park.

We took it easy since the purpose was basically to loosen the tight spots so they could heal easier. After the walk we think that the idea was pretty good. At about the mid point the OFM decided to rest a few minutes just to be extra careful. Here is the of the main trail approaching.

After a few minutes of rest we got going again and hit the first cut back to Sierra point. A check of joints, bruises and painful places showed up some new spots of ouching. So we turned toward Sierra and meandered on to the parked relief vehicle (Sierra). This was not a long walk or a fast walk. In fact it made meandering seem high speed, but it has turned out to be just what was needed we think. The rest of the day was fairly physically lazy.

After lunch the Teams decided to go have a look at the place where the fall happened. We got there and parked out of the way for the camera to do its work. Here is what it looked like as the OFM exited the restroom. The yellow line straight ahead is what caused the fall. To us it looks like a flat path to the maintenance parking spot.

This new view is from the waters side of the area and is the direction the OFM was looking when he got to the yellow line.

So far it looks like a nice flat junction to us. However here is the view from over in the parking lot to the left of our path.

Now you can see the curb that sent the OFM splattering to the concrete for this exciting event. So we will be recovering just fine and ready for fishing and travel in a few days. We hope anyway. We are using our recovery time to plan a lot of trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. Yeah. I see what you mean. I wonder if it would help if there were a black strip along with the yellow one. Like a shadow. Or something. Glad you had a walk. Should help with keeping things circulating and clearing up the damage in there. Geez.

  2. It looks like they were trying to make a wheelchair accessible ramp, but boy, is that misleading and sketchy! Hope you heal soon with no lingering injury.

  4. That is just the kind of thing that keeps accident lawyers driving new Caddys every other year.
