Fly Fishing

Adventure Location: Rockport, Texas

Today's Date: 4-15-2022

A gentle walk around the beach park area of the Rockport Harbor was our morning effort. It was at least two miles but the OFM made it and did rather well since we stayed at a moderate speed. Along the way we found material for tonight's blog effort.

After parking Sierra near the old aquarium foundation the OFM led us off along the row of boat slips. Nothing special was happening but it was good walking and not crowded. We came back past Sierra and headed into the beach park area to meander a nice amount.

While walking along the Little Bay section a fly fisherman was working his way in our direction. When we passed each other nice compliments were exchanged and the OFM grabbed a picture for our readers to see that fly fishing is alive and well in Rockport. In fact for the last two weeks it has been quite a few fly fishing folks in the area. Here is todays nice fellow.

This next picture is the area the fisherman has already fished. The water that you see is about two feet deep to four feet deep. Normal game fish in this area are speckled trout, red fish, flounder, drum and a few others in season like spanish mackerel.

The route took us on around to the boat ramp where we crossed across the beach road to head back to Sierra way over there. The gentle walking worked out really well for the OFM joints and muscles healing.

Many other chores were taken care of today so the OFM rewarded himself with a Chicken Fried Steak with trimmings for supper AND IT WAS GREAT.

Here we are at nearly 2200 and we need to get our sleep for some serious trying to have tooooo much fun tomorrow.
