We got a decent start on the morning and went for a walk near the harbor. There is a small beach there at a fishing pier. So the OFM hopped the seawall and we did a bit of walking on the sand. There were several surprises of interest to us in the area. The best was all the unspoiled tracks we found. Here is a picture of the hunk of sand and the birds on guard over it. The weather was wonderful.

As we meandered slowly along the sand we noticed that many critters had been wandering around leaving “foot prints” for us to enjoy. What ever this bird was, it definitely had HUGE feet. It was not in the vicinity while we were there. The OFM size 10 foot is in the picture to give you size perspective on the bird tracks.

Nearby were many shelled critter tracks going every which way on the sand. We do not recall seeing so many in one little area before. This particular trail caught our attention for some reason. It was about six feet long.

As we stood there looking at all the different tracks, this critter came ambulating along to meet us. Her name was Edith and she spoke rather good English. We visited for a few minutes and then she had to move on to find something for lunch. It is nice to have a friendly conversation while we are out meandering.

The only slightly special event today was the chicken fried steak dinner we had tonight at a Mexican food location. We liked the way they prepared the food and the roll that came with it is sitting on the counter waiting to be microwaved to warm it for the OFM's nite nite snack. And that is a wonderful way to finish off a good day of trying to have tooooo much fun.

  1. Yes, very interesting. Only bird I can fathom with those size tracks are pterodactyls. But that might have been the case 66 million years ago. So a mystery in today's world!
