It was a cool morning so the OFM waited until later when the sun had warmed up things a bit. The lake level was topped out according to the lake authority site, so we knew the gravel trail right along the lake would not be a good choice.
Our choice was the paved road that more or less parallels the shore line but usually about fifty feet inland. It is a nice bike ride or a good walk.
We found a few nice scenes from the golf course that is adjacent to the road. This one of the yellow flowers just begged the OFM to take its picture.
The gravel trail was visible in several places since the vegetation has not yet grown back in from the winter freezes. Three of the bench spots along the trail were visible during parts of our 3.4 mile walk. None of them were usable due to the lake being over the land at each one of them. Here are the three resting spots in no particular order.
The OFM legs did rather well on this walk to our surprise. A bit of resting when we returned to the Castle was in order as well as a couple of preventive medicine tablets of Ibuprofen.
We finished the afternoon with a short visit to the grand kids and some great joking with each other. It was definitely a good way of trying to have tooooo much fun.
The first photo is very inviting.
ReplyDeleteNice trail.
Even with the high water it appears you had tooooo much fun visiting with the Grands on Easter.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
