It was a nice night sleep last night and we awakened to wonderful Easter Morning weather that lasted all day.
The day started with a great walk at the Municipal Park trails for about two miles briskly. The OFM legs responded well and we feel that we are making good progress to recovery from the few days of ailments holding us back on our health efforts. A very nice sun and temperature this morning made the scenery pretty to us. Here is a shot at the far back of the trail as we cross behind the park pond while the aerator is helping the water stay in decent shape for the natural critters that live here. We think it may even make a nice painting for the OFM to attempt.
When we completed this walk the OFM decided we should go to the Beach Park and check out the early morning crowds. So away we went. It is only about five miles over to the Beach Park and the drive had very few vehicles on the road.
We arrived quickly at the Beach Park to a nearly deserted park but it did not stay that way for long. However we took the time to enjoy the lack of folks when we first got to the Salt Water Pool area. There was no folks in sight for about the first twenty minutes. Here is the beach and shade shelters when we got there.
It was cool, very pleasant and we loved it. A nice bit more walking around the area just enjoying the doing nothing special was wonderful. The views out into the major bay were clear enough to see the five miles across the bay. WOW. Not too long later we noticed the Easter traffic was noticeably picking up so we started easing our way out of the park. By the time we got into Sierra and started rolling toward the exit location we spotted several more shade locations with families setting up for the day.
The rest of the extremely nice day was spent visiting folks around town as we took in the crowds fringes to enjoy the nice views and happy families playing in the sunshine. We were very glad to have been here today to experience all the folks out being nice to each other and trying to have tooooo much fun.
The grill (smoker?) in the last picture is built in?
ReplyDeleteYes it is part of the picnic area facilities. Thanks for your question, it led me to find the website for the beach Park which does a good job of describing most of the features. Here is the web address https://www.rockportfulton.com/rockport-beach-park . Yes it does get very crowded during big events.
DeleteThat's a family plus sized grill! Great park!
