It has been an eventful but mostly good day. We got out to the walking trails this morning and had a wonderful walk for the whole 1.5 miles as a brisk pace. It was a great warm day that got up to about 80 in the afternoon. The day was going very well and we knew it would cool off a little in the evening.
So The OFM was out messing around a bit in the sun and warm when he went towards home about 1530 and ran into the frozen air wall with some rain in it on the way home. Suddenly we went from 80F and sunshine to 60F and damp rain fogging up Sierra's windows. What a mess that was!
We were looking for pretty pictures for tonight. Well we got them but they are not pretty.
As we turned into the Beach Park with the windshield frosting we spotted the flag poles near the entrance had shifted to from the north and dead grey was all over everything. There was only four workers and the OFM in the park. Everyone else had sense enough to head to warmth.
The boat channel repair barge and crane had moved to the entrance of the Rockport Marina to work on the navigation lighting so the boats coming in in bad weather can see the opening from farther out in the bay. They were fighting significant winds and drizzling large rain drops as well as the cold breeze. Here is a picture of them from the shore side of the entrance channel. That is nasty weather for sure.
As we looked around at the fishing jetty there was this tough fellow out there trying to catch fish in the cold drizzle and strong wind. He is toooo tough for me to mess with for sure.
When we got back to the Castle, the OFM got busy unpacking our two electric heaters and putting the foam back in the windows to keep the heat inside tonight. It is supposed to be down to high 50s tonight this close to the water that we are. It might be a bit INTERESTING tomorrow during this cold front as we look around for things to do for having tooooo much fun and staying warm.
I'm surprised that front had enough cool air in it to get all the way down there. Yesterday we were 90+ and today, around 70. But the winds diminished fast after the noon hour. Brr for the coast though.
ReplyDeleteMuch colder and faster than I can recall in my lifetime.
