We Made It Safely To Grand Kid Land

Adventure Locations:

Point Mallard Campground

Decatur, Alabama

Date: June 1, 2023

Wouldn't you know it! Today was the day the new camp site prices went up.

The trip onward to our new home location for a few months was decent and relatively boring with well behaved Interstate drivers and no real troubles to speak about. We ran a bit over six hours driving and about an hour split between a few rest areas to give the OFM body some stretching relief. Gas ran from $3.09 to $3.39 per gallon. We made it in off the road about 1300 today. The OFM was definitely not in his best health today but things still went alright.

We are in site 2 for two weeks as we wait for a long stay site to hold us through the summer and grand kids time.

The new rates are well displayed for all to see and know about. This campground is very good about making certain everyone knows about changes coming well in advance to plan what they want to do about the changes.

That is about it for tonight. The OFM needs to get his mail that is waiting sent to us from the Escapees in Livingston Texas address that is our official address. It should take about three or four days to get here. We are hoping our glorious leader OFM will be doing better tomorrow. We need to get all the mail, doctor visits, laundry, and other chores going so we can have time for tooooo much fun again.

  2. I'm guessing $667 is still "cheap rent" for most places, plus you get the grandkids! Have fun!!

    1. Nope not cheap. This is a more facilities than most place but it is not a cheap park being as it is inside a major complex with water park, archery range, ice skating rink etc. Check out Point Mallard Alabama for all the entertainment options. The few other rv parks in the area are slightly cheaper at around $500 but 70% less to do in them.
