Sorry no pics today.
The idea today was to get a long term spot to stay here at Point Mallard. Total failure would be a good description. We had one site waiting for a person to move out today then we could get that site. So after it was vacant we went over to measure it for the Castle to fit. It was a smaller site with crick frontage and turned out to be just a bit too small. So we had to pass on that one.
If you have not guessed this is a VERY popular place when school is out so sites in the summer are scarce. Well a few hours later in the day another site was mentioned to me as maybe available soon. We walked over and found it to be big enough but in a section that is lower and sometimes floods three to four inches deep in heavy rains for a few hours. However we had learned that the river department for the Tennessee River had lowered the normal level of the river about a foot to 13 inches which the little creek next to the site is on the upper arm of the drainage is connected too. That would be plenty to take care of the drainage problem from normal summer rains. So now we are first on the list for that site if the folks really leave the site. That would serve us just fine and actually closer to the entrance of one of the many trails for walking in the area.
The OFM is still having not feeling great troubles but nothing specific is showing. We walk, sleep, eat etd just fine but do not feel good. Something will show up eventually and get fixed.
And that is how things are flopping around today as we meander around trying to have tooooo much fun.
Finding the perfect spot, at popular camp grounds makes it difficult for having tooooo much fun.
ReplyDeleteStay Safe and Enjoy the park.
It's about time.
Sure Can but it helps if your rig fits into the spot also.
