GOOSE ISLAND STATE PARK
FULTON TEXAS
This has been a getting ready day and fighting biting bugs. It has definitely not been a fun day at the park. In fact the state park has been mostly a misery lately. In fact we hope to get rolling tomorrow inland and away from the saltwater marshes surrounding us here. At least Walmart has been good shopping.
We have high hopes all the equipment is in great rolling shape. The only plan for now is to roll safely to Point Mallard Alabama where we have a paid for site waiting for us. Sorry about all the negativity but in over fifty years of coming here this is by far the worst time we have had to put up with insect wise. Be safe and have fun wherever you are.
Sorry things didn't go as planned at Goose Island. Hopefully you will find a couple of nice stops on your way back to Alabama. Wishing you safe travels.

DeleteIn the "for what it's worth" dept we had great luck using a Thermacell Mosquito repellant for sunset cocktails on a dock, with it we were able to stay until after dark bsing with the other boondockers. Before that we didn't stay long...
ReplyDeleteSafe travels!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that. I like Goose Island State Park. They were not an issue when you dropped by to see us in November. I guess some rain makes a big difference.
