The OFM declared himself well this morning before even getting going very well. Mostly we paid bills and just goofed around the rig being careful. The OFM got the last repairs to Sierra paid in full today so the new tranny is finished and clears the checkbook. That was really expensive. But it is behind us now. Just so you will know the tranny repair with motor mounts and new bushings hit us for $6000. Still a lot less than a new truck. The three year or 100000 mile full warranty should get us to the next vehicle We hope.
Speaking of new vehicles, today we finally saw a small 24 foot motor home that seemed to fit our thoughts. The owner and the OFM hit it off really well and we got all the good info on it.
The unit is exactly like the OFM would have lay-ed out the interior. Joe, the owner, has put 80000 miles on it now and runs the country just like the OFM does. What a find to see this is. And the itch to own is even worse than I already had. And to make it worse Joe is a big time boondocker.
If have a class C you still need something to go to the store with...
ReplyDeleteYou are correct in my world. This is class b+ that fits in most parking slots like the ones in this parking lot. My short term motorhome mistake was a 34 foot and those are wrong for me.
DeleteThen the living area always has to be ready to roll, like to lunch. Everyone is different in what they want, enjoy the the hunt! :-)
DeleteAnother thing to consider is when service is required, where do you sleep?
ReplyDeleteSierra and the Castle are the perfect fit at this time.
Be Safe and Enjoy the hunt for having tooooo much fun.
It's about time.
Same for the Castle when it needs repair for overnight stays.
DeleteIn my using RVs since 1972 , I feel all of the rving styles has at least one major hang up and a person needs to carefully choose the hang up they prefer to live with especially if you full time.
