Cold weather is still here and barely made it above freezing during the day. Tomorrow is supposed to be above freezing and that's the end of freezing weather for a few days. YAHOO.
Today the OFM got to tryout his new colored pencils. They are VERITHIN by prismacolor. I was very excited to try them since they are "hard lead" pencils instead of the Prismacolor normal colored pencils I now use. The report is yuck. They were so badly made the pencil sharpeners I have used for years was unable to get decent points on them and the wood part of the pencils kept on splitting and breaking. Finally I gave up on them after ruining a couple of them. Nope not for me. Back to old reliable I went and finished the coloring tonight. It came out well in spite of me.
Saturday starts the delivery of SEVERAL items I have been waiting for Christmas to get over with before ordering. They are due to start arriving Saturday and will be delivered over the next two weeks. It is a pain in the rump to not be able to drive to Walmart etc, and just run in to get little things. But that is what I have lived long enough to be encountering.
We had an inmate of this facility take a ride in an ambulance right after lunch but no one knows why. It is not usually a good thing when that happens in this facility. However I was over in the foyer area looting the free snacks counter about 7 PM when up pulled an ambulance returning the inmate to his bedroom. He smiled at me as they rolled him past me. So tomorrow at breakfast we might find out what happened.

Barney, your sense of humor has not changed a bit! Inmates and rides! How many chuckles you have given me over many years! And now another year ends. So sorry about your disappointment with the colored pencils! You do great with the trusty ones you have been using, though. It is a good thing the fellow was able to make a return trip! Wishing you a good 2026 and TOO MUCH FUN!

Good Morning Barney, It’s been awhile but I’m now catching up on all that’s happened. I’ve followed you for several years but alas life gets in the way sometimes for all of us. I’m am sorry to hear of your recent health issues. Thank the good Lord you have landed safe and sound and thank God for caring family.
ReplyDeleteArt has always help me in many ways. Being creative is a great mental exercise no matter what you create it helps keep those brain cells firing and alive. Have you thought about using colored markers for your coloring they are bright and vivid colors and lots of folks use them. My choice of art expression is watercolor and occasionally oil painting. All art is good! I am now 81.2 years old and grateful each morning I can place a foot on the floor. Things move slowly for us but we keep moving, right.
I know you’re having problems with placing pictures in your blog. It will work its way out sooner or later, in the meantime I enjoy your current dialogue.
