Tasting A Lure

 ROCKPORT, TEXAS

JANUARY 5, 2025

The wind was very strong all day so our fishing and walking was horribly mutilated. Here is a picture of the wave action breaking over the bulkhead at the beach park. It was nasty out there and that is why we shot the picture at maximum zoom.

We have been having severe ant invasions in the Castle for some reason. A stop at Walmart got us a spray bottle of ant insecticide for the outside of the Castle. There are no trees or other vegetation over the Castle and nearly none at grade level either. Therefore we figured they are coming up the stabilizer jacks and the tire and axle assemblies to enter the Castle. So when we got the poison home the OFM spent a good bit of time spraying every surface that could be a route for the ants to enter the Castle. Of course the ants already inside will likely need their own treatment done separately. Insect invasions are a regular trouble when camping in places we go.

Our friend Hillbilly was out at the Beach park doing some fishing and found this lost lure near the shore line. The OFM asked him if it worked so he chomped down on it to find out.

One thing for certain he is a tough fellow to handle treble hooks so casually.

We did some grocery shopping this afternoon in preparation for doing a little bit of cooking to get back in practice before we roll southwest toward Falcon Heights in a couple of weeks. Wow groceries have screamed up in price in the last two weeks since our last serious shopping spree.

Good Night.

  2. Even here in Ontario, food prices have only been going up.
