NICE VISIT

It was a nice day and a long visit from my son was a welcome change. Several events in the last few days were discussed and some small plans were made for the future. My limitations are getting a bit stronger so we have to be careful of getting to ambitious about things physically demanding. This getting old stuff takes some being careful with planning outdoor events. Thank you to the readers still reading and commenting. I think my blogging days are about over.  I will soon be 79 years old and aging is fast becoming a difficulty to be carefully handled. I know others still well active in their 80s but my body and brain is not looking like it will be one of those types. So I will do what I can with what I have and be very glad I had 21 years of the free life like I did.  Keep smiling folks because life is worth living if you stay busy and live it for all you can.

  1. You are right about the challenges of aging, and they differ for everyone. Sometimes the drawback is dealing with complications of loved one, other times it is personal.
We can always dream that things will get back to the way we planned, but it is not always in our control.
Stay Safe and Enjoy the change of adventure.

    It's about time.

  2. Being older than you Barney, I get what you are saying. I am fortunate in that I make quilts and knit caps for donations. Both of these "hobbies" require me to use my brain, etc. which I feel is essential in this aging process. Take care and stay strong.

  3. Thank you for years of enjoyable reading. I am 82 and understand completely. I'll stay with you till you officially quit. It has been a great ride, I did not go as much as I dreamed of going, but your exploits were always interesting and welcome reading,
    Best wishes always,

  4. Blog when you and when you feel up to it. Aging and difficulty with words is one reason my mystery book writing chapter is closing. Froggi hugs headed your way!

  5. Remember you’re still recovering. We’ll be here whenever you feel like checking in. Doesn’t have to be a regular scheduled “blog”. Always good to hear from you… whenever.

  6. Hi. I am 82. I hear you about aging. The OFM blog has been a happy part of my life for many years. Much appreciated! I surely would like to continue hearing from you if you are able and wanting to post. You have ALWAYS had such a positive outlook; always put the best face on whatever happened. I hope whatever is slamming you will give you a break! Good that your son is there with you.

  7. You have a good attitude after what you have gone through. Nothing else but changing your home from your trailer to where you are now would be a shock to anyone's system and a big adjustment for you to grasp. Some times life comes at all of us too fast. Makes me thankful for what I have. Hang in there Barney.

  9. I sure have enjoyed hearing all about your adventures over the past several years, thanks for taking the time to write about it. We never know what is behind the next bend in the road, especially as we start to get some mileage on us. Take care, enjoy your new surroundings and we'll stay tuned just in case... Linda

  10. Hello Barney. I know you know this but maybe a friendly reminder is needed. "Adapt and overcome". It's never about "what's going to happen to me now",,,, it's always about "who am I going to be now". Stay safe, have fun and take care of your "self". Darrell.
