<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">However
we did get in a nice walk this morning of 2.93 miles with the
slightly cool weather helping the OFM keep on stepping out.</span></span></p>

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">According
to the river water authorities web site, the local water level is back to

It is a lot nicer to view pretty water than the muddy creek bank in
our opinion.</span></span></p>

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Late
this afternoon the OFM finally remembered to get some black paint to
put over the new white caulk we have been using to seal weathering
caulk. If you paint it right after the caulk cures, it seems to last
for several more years than when left to the weather. The black color
matches the rubber seals color around most of the Castles openings.
We already have white paint on the white caulk used in some parts of
the rig. The Castle is a 2005 model with a huge amount more wear from
use than almost all other travel trailers we have ever seen.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">An
important item was tackled this morning and turned out to be a bit of
work to say the least. The second leak that showed up a couple of
days ago during the rain storms was tackled today. It came in from
the end of the skylight and ran along the frame for a ways before
coming into the trailer to visit. Here is where the entry was from
inside the roof.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjA5i3ekFxIjB9HPj_2vw6UliPAzXcRdWsxFNVpfGSiAbQfr4GvXtBlgNBxmS4xXmHJHTcvmq4BIx740-RgtL2KtQKS1GihmsH-Eh7mvjRQ8OSQeFiHnNTAfXfHfzw2qmuH2SLRiafj7Tl87b2SAHE_3tiFqnimDLoNS6BNIMDEoBmp1Rv34Ly5KQ0CgQ/s1121/leak%20location.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1121" height="570" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjA5i3ekFxIjB9HPj_2vw6UliPAzXcRdWsxFNVpfGSiAbQfr4GvXtBlgNBxmS4xXmHJHTcvmq4BIx740-RgtL2KtQKS1GihmsH-Eh7mvjRQ8OSQeFiHnNTAfXfHfzw2qmuH2SLRiafj7Tl87b2SAHE_3tiFqnimDLoNS6BNIMDEoBmp1Rv34Ly5KQ0CgQ/w640-h570/leak%20location.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We
removed all the trim etc. and cleaned the fuzz and dirt etc on the
inside. The leak turned out to be in the near vicinity of an older
leak that had been repaired a couple of years ago. After all the
examinations were done we decided we could spray the rubber coating
on the outside and get a better seal. So out came the six foot step
ladder and up the OFM went to clean the application area. We used an
aerosol can of rubber mix to spray a heavy coating on the area. This
fix it stuff has done wonders on several other leaks we have seen it
used upon. Then we cleaned up and put the equipment away. Back inside
we got busy using our wimpy healing shoulders to reinstall the twelve
overhead screws back in place to hole the inside trim in place. And
finally it was back together again. The OFM then vacuumed the whole
147 sf of the Castle before we put the cleaning tools away. Hopefully
that will be the last leak for a good while. For those who think RV
life is all lazy lay around you are wrong. Especially these little
repairs are a constant item to take care of.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Commercial
RV repair folks charge about $100 an hour labor charge for these
kinds of repairs if done in their shop. We do not know what the
onsite service calls are but it probably is at least a little more
per hour.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">After
this effort the OFM took a dose of ibuprofen and had a long nap to
let the pain in his shoulders ease off. The was a wise choice we are
certain.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then
we took it easy and worked on and finished our first full painting
from scratch in over a year. It is based on a hot air launch we saw
in Oregon over ten years ago.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0e0EhAELid1s-otQFcZ7ai36XsuMkaB2MPXX7FNZ5Hj5HNX3INP9XwTtUq3MEBZqGB-Bk2dkU4IdXjyDivvivF3T0h4-Zdpr6813xb3cG0HfFUyX-ig-WvmC82cfsYL2W31_Omweh33prIMjf2vk1xx__POI8brouj3jc9hT8gMc6bb4ySg0WlVK3llQ/s2033/LONESOME%20LAUNCH.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1634" data-original-width="2033" height="514" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0e0EhAELid1s-otQFcZ7ai36XsuMkaB2MPXX7FNZ5Hj5HNX3INP9XwTtUq3MEBZqGB-Bk2dkU4IdXjyDivvivF3T0h4-Zdpr6813xb3cG0HfFUyX-ig-WvmC82cfsYL2W31_Omweh33prIMjf2vk1xx__POI8brouj3jc9hT8gMc6bb4ySg0WlVK3llQ/w640-h514/LONESOME%20LAUNCH.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It
was fun to try to do a painting again instead of just coloring other
folks drawings. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Well
it was a full day for sure and we plan to rest our upper body
tomorrow but still get in some decent walking in, Have a great nights
sleep everyone.</span></span></p>

<p></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">So
we just worked on some art sketch/drawings just to be learning
something. It is interesting what all a person can learn from you
tube and other sites. The main thing we were trying to learn about
is under painting with water colors to make the colored pencil work
on top of it look a lot better. It seems like that will take a lot of
practice but might be worthwhile.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Supper
tonight was pretty good. The OFM had chosen a bag of mixed salad
greenery from Walmart a few days ago. Tonight we had at it. Salad mix
into a bowl. Drizzle Lawlers sweet red BBQ sauce on the greenery.
Then add half inch cubed chicken meat that had been specifically
cooked by boiling in scant but flavored water to OFM specifications.
WOW it was knock out great. The teams need to do that way more often.
By the way cubed pork chops work very well also. Makes you wish you
had a tail to wag.</span></span></p>

a bit before lunch we got an email that our new glasses were ready to

things being where they look like they are, such as curbs!</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We

<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">WOW
it is two weeks into March already. The OFM is getting old faster it
seems.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">This
morning the OFM chose to take the paved trail right from the start at
the Castle. This is the path that we take to the dumpsters and turn
back. But this morning we took it outward for a mile and returned on
the same pathway so the whole two miles was on the asphalt surface
with NO uneven surfaces to worry with. The walk was nice and for the
rest of the day we have not had any joint twinges or outright pains.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">But
the big change in the last two days is the amount of green and
flowers that have shown up for our pleasure of seeing them.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">Leaving
the campground we crossed this little creek that two days ago had no
visible greenery but today lots of nice new leaves and other new
growth welcomed us with open branches.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1q2pWVPrOEgYHM5rTRyMTeeET0piSXecZvPWqo15lL2fcalLCQFJCv1nJqUAHyaIWaebzDueD3UTt-2VhMnalz9WTY_7YupBJHjbZiUY-UOv64Soco_ROSvjtrBO9iRRL7niqW5EuJRfr0XA-LKnIiMFOrV2xG7HwN1rdCkkGueGNpN_gSb_F3cti9o/s1540/local%20creek.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1540" height="416" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1q2pWVPrOEgYHM5rTRyMTeeET0piSXecZvPWqo15lL2fcalLCQFJCv1nJqUAHyaIWaebzDueD3UTt-2VhMnalz9WTY_7YupBJHjbZiUY-UOv64Soco_ROSvjtrBO9iRRL7niqW5EuJRfr0XA-LKnIiMFOrV2xG7HwN1rdCkkGueGNpN_gSb_F3cti9o/w640-h416/local%20creek.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">And
then only fifty feet farther along the OFM looked up to enjoy the
bright morning sky and right up there 75 feet into the sky hanging on
for dear life was a whole tree top of new green growth telling us
spring has sprung. All this is happening very quickly this year.
Could our two day ice storn a few weeks ago have instigated this
burst of greenery.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL1HdXBOE5DU_aZTvbbBRYGAukUDgBDbeKFM9nJRxn3Etzlp249zmgKRKRIabzoEb-tIBHD3zmTRmHP4HREuWS8xcjs1ekmJPVaRyInGAAsrglSKt7ATLdcITHHWvmfUFdiOjC0dsksqQNPWG7Wrq6GFQgYj506IJRPHzE-lUMQUYjbVqAo1mkiGckCrA/s1789/treetop%20green.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1789" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL1HdXBOE5DU_aZTvbbBRYGAukUDgBDbeKFM9nJRxn3Etzlp249zmgKRKRIabzoEb-tIBHD3zmTRmHP4HREuWS8xcjs1ekmJPVaRyInGAAsrglSKt7ATLdcITHHWvmfUFdiOjC0dsksqQNPWG7Wrq6GFQgYj506IJRPHzE-lUMQUYjbVqAo1mkiGckCrA/w640-h358/treetop%20green.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">But
we were not finished with surprises yet. About a quarter mile on down
the path was a new patch of flowers and grass showing off for the
walkers to ooo and wow at.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7pM9lvKAWJd4mU1-zFXWJfVuTyhE6O7u7cKV_wZiJ8Ks1tzY1zKLjhNdzynXglbdtDpDTkPjc2la1QHtJpIYsM3xXbKm8zC2qtTBPgc4retMhr_8OXMRhxQ1AGV6aDC6wTN9AYRdZ85fWKET0ZH2D1yBoQSiGeOpzI9G0e0YULFBDS-5RscmrO1bIBwY/s1705/new%20flower%20patch.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1705" height="376" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7pM9lvKAWJd4mU1-zFXWJfVuTyhE6O7u7cKV_wZiJ8Ks1tzY1zKLjhNdzynXglbdtDpDTkPjc2la1QHtJpIYsM3xXbKm8zC2qtTBPgc4retMhr_8OXMRhxQ1AGV6aDC6wTN9AYRdZ85fWKET0ZH2D1yBoQSiGeOpzI9G0e0YULFBDS-5RscmrO1bIBwY/w640-h376/new%20flower%20patch.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 22pt;">And
last but far from least, some where around 1730 we happened to feel a
bit warm sitting in the Castle next to the open window. We glanced up
at the temperature gauge on the dining area wall and it was reading
83F! It is warming up very quickly it seems. Let us hope tomorrow
gives us some good ideas about having tooooo much fun.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date:
March 13, 2024</span></span></p>
<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Today
was a hodgepodge of events that flopped around like a freshly run
over rattle snake. The walk this morning was with our new (three
years ago) shoes. We like to get them ahead of time so we do not have
to worry when the current pair gives up on us. The OFM wears a size
10 EEEE boot and they are not normally kept in store stock.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Any
way we wore them out onto the trail and right away we needed to
adjust the shoe strings for better fit. So at the first bench we went
to work reworking the shoe strings tightness.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiitNchFKIKUlP9CSMUcrME81S4TvB-CmE-0ah9N9uT8qNHiv8rWc_ECDgD_D4T1GXHnz6IqCZdGcumUTA6M0AoXxgbjuxTIc7LDHvENDrZ0lqIClGQTDhpXEhYBYCp6J_X2F96LIrEksWUq8eT40oGD1_wjdoDCgZEk2BWMea7fvNuJgXZgj9x12kgZQs/s1478/first%20bench.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1478" height="434" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiitNchFKIKUlP9CSMUcrME81S4TvB-CmE-0ah9N9uT8qNHiv8rWc_ECDgD_D4T1GXHnz6IqCZdGcumUTA6M0AoXxgbjuxTIc7LDHvENDrZ0lqIClGQTDhpXEhYBYCp6J_X2F96LIrEksWUq8eT40oGD1_wjdoDCgZEk2BWMea7fvNuJgXZgj9x12kgZQs/w640-h434/first%20bench.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then
not real far on down the trail we had to sit down on the next bench
and do some really serious “adjusting” to everything about the
boot. After breaking a strong sweat adjusting the boot we got them
in good shape to fit the OFM strange shaped feet. For the rest of the
over two miles we got along pretty well.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVEvBtE4aHjinR4rFuICw6fQJ4WDAWJSzXDpCJs5rDGj_QhiiYfn5ikgVE1Xaw-6_sqfjNKf5m8gFI1Nc_a8ESlGUn-h5yvepJ7hKUep5QMQqWHZXwnhKwl0nSjgKTgvRIua2LLzcGpk2BTyYQY6pJAalNNtdVJbj_zUUbctQ4gxdY5jznmqHbwp0IVDY/s1000/new%20shoe.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="716" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVEvBtE4aHjinR4rFuICw6fQJ4WDAWJSzXDpCJs5rDGj_QhiiYfn5ikgVE1Xaw-6_sqfjNKf5m8gFI1Nc_a8ESlGUn-h5yvepJ7hKUep5QMQqWHZXwnhKwl0nSjgKTgvRIua2LLzcGpk2BTyYQY6pJAalNNtdVJbj_zUUbctQ4gxdY5jznmqHbwp0IVDY/w458-h640/new%20shoe.JPG" width="458" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Now
we need to get in several miles on all sorts of terrain to get feet
and boots happy with each other.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Along
the trail we had our first for the year tree trunk of turtles sunning
themselves today. Plus we even got a nice picture of them.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnyofDMht_u_1TL515kegUztMs6UUmTrhTHsqlP-RMCxS7MUpMasEArd4TsJaJo1Hnchk267xaOUlX_5dvMM5e6NBcPTdpujXmUq4lyKiQuqIb29PLA8ksZiBp-Ev4y9B8ReH7YyuK4ELZFJkYv4pmr6G1IO2TmdvchuuhPKyKM8NSUzcM3J6s1iYAiY/s2248/turtles.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="2248" height="142" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGnyofDMht_u_1TL515kegUztMs6UUmTrhTHsqlP-RMCxS7MUpMasEArd4TsJaJo1Hnchk267xaOUlX_5dvMM5e6NBcPTdpujXmUq4lyKiQuqIb29PLA8ksZiBp-Ev4y9B8ReH7YyuK4ELZFJkYv4pmr6G1IO2TmdvchuuhPKyKM8NSUzcM3J6s1iYAiY/s320/turtles.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Spring
must quickly be getting here.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">At
several locations along the trail was downed and rotting wood that
had fungus growing on it. Today we noticed that a lot of the fungus
had green mold growing on it. No wonder the OFM has the sniffles this
time of the year.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3ZoLe41O73KPzAypnAzldJTBbtj0ZDpWqtgP_KHZFt6sFRpso5qEyuGEp80f3iKL10Wo3kKMnnfKV1qjN_95zN2j-7RktTIOobP3xAKO-6M6BsV1ymxvlW_xWoLR3IqUklxbz44UKRy6QY_LlyIk6bT3tocaRVvr46tUT7458dK8yLG2-AcNUzD6K4zs/s1000/moldy%20fungi.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="822" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3ZoLe41O73KPzAypnAzldJTBbtj0ZDpWqtgP_KHZFt6sFRpso5qEyuGEp80f3iKL10Wo3kKMnnfKV1qjN_95zN2j-7RktTIOobP3xAKO-6M6BsV1ymxvlW_xWoLR3IqUklxbz44UKRy6QY_LlyIk6bT3tocaRVvr46tUT7458dK8yLG2-AcNUzD6K4zs/w526-h640/moldy%20fungi.JPG" width="526" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Now
for the important new information. A you readers know this has been a
long session time of repair troubles for the OFM, Sierra and the
Castle. If the new glasses that are on order and due in late next
week actually come in and are the correct prescription etc then we
feel it will be safe for us to do some rolling late this spring.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">With
that in mind we went over some our records and found that being north
of I\10 in Texas by the end of March is a good idea when boondock
traveling. Tomorrow we plan to recheck our data from this blog and
the National Weather Service to make sure we do not put our selves in
weather that is too hot to have fun in. We already know we want to be
back in grandkid land by about June 1. That means we have about two
months to work with. Then we would be able to go back to our old
yearly schedule that used to work so well for several years.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Every
one have fun and we hope your good dreams come true.</span></span></p>

<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A
nice easy day it turned out to be. The ankle sprain is healed it
seems but we did find out something new about the walking effort. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Today
we walked a little on the gravel path we have been using for years.
The city has pretty well stopped maintaining it to the great level of
up until three years ago. Today for some reason the OFM tried using
the paved surface pathway inside the park and found his joints and
muscles seemed to walk better on the firm surface. The two pathways
run mostly parallel inside the park.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We
had a very nice couple of miles this afternoon walking the paved path

morning.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The
soccer field had lots of practice sessions going on this afternoon in
the nice sunshine. But along toward evening things clouded up. Here
is the best of several sunset pictures taken this evening.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A
fairly nice morning gave us hope of an exciting adventurous day that
was soon hindered by a bum ankle. At least we were still mobile if
hindered. So a shopping trip to Walmart in the morning did come out
well with a new shirt WITH A POCKET purchased. That rack of shirts
was not there yesterday when we were searching the men's shirts area.
But we fooled them and came back this morning.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We
were looking at hand vacuum cleaners and found out we needed to
research a bit more before purchasing one.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Back
at the Castle we took it easy on the foot by working on the small
coloring and finished it. Yep it was very valuable to the teams with
the glaring changes/improvements it needs in the full size version.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA2ZJtZyqCNZSv3yAwcRuhrs-B9KDwuzEmErXkUrjuzA8RN9S59pgLAueePuTm52RtAf3iU8DHFLOmGxo0o9kPBzgKiI2R19MyN_l3jgqmJLOcwbzvxHDxW93D4-a46yLSmjtU3E3aj0ZkN6cRQP7CbgU1wbgjSfOlUQgzr2FhqzVlEF4Cyy3NJZ7jAQ8/s1565/GLORY%20CANYON.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1565" data-original-width="1365" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA2ZJtZyqCNZSv3yAwcRuhrs-B9KDwuzEmErXkUrjuzA8RN9S59pgLAueePuTm52RtAf3iU8DHFLOmGxo0o9kPBzgKiI2R19MyN_l3jgqmJLOcwbzvxHDxW93D4-a46yLSmjtU3E3aj0ZkN6cRQP7CbgU1wbgjSfOlUQgzr2FhqzVlEF4Cyy3NJZ7jAQ8/w558-h640/GLORY%20CANYON.JPG" width="558" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>

</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And
that was all the Old Fat Man Adventures for the day. The ankle seems
to be recovering quickly so tomorrow might be more active. At least
we hope so. Every one try to have tooooo much fun, it is Spring Break
you know.</span></span></p>

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The
morning looked fabulous from inside the Castle with bright sun and
53F air temps. But when we cleared the tree line on the morning walk
the cold breeze from due north froze us to our tootsies. </span></span>

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We
shiverrrrrred our way past the soccer fields and hit the trail down
by the creek that was somewhat protected from the breeze named FRIGID</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">BREEZE.
We followed the path on down to where a fellow fishing was having a

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We

around in the cold wind for the rest of the day.</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Since
it was daylight saving time we reset the clock in Sierra and as usual
it was an ordeal but we got it done. After that we did piddle around
in the Castle staying warm. It is supposed to be 33F tonight here.
And that is all of this exciting day in Alabama. We hope you had a
great day wherever you are.</span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p>

</p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Today
was a nasty weather day for sure. Very chilled and damp was the whole
day. The morning was spent inventorying clothing to see if we needed
any new clothing. Yep we needed some new socks since we were down to
only two pair. We also looked for a couple of new shirts but none of
them had front pockets and nowadays the OFM needs the front pocket on
his shirts. So we were half successful since the correct socks were
in stock. One bagful of them came home with us.</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">After
that we tried out the walking and got a big surprise. We must have
had some strong winds since the OFM last walked because a lot of old
dead or near dead trees that we were watching were now down. Either
the tree went down or major limbs were blown off the tree. Here are
pictures of four of them.</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQuILRdQrLEmz2KNQWqVCr3TK6sJzXkbaJobRzPA3HufDMltpojxiiOn3GZga5Ovlnfdq9p3EC7_aQ0_QR06ESUxRnkDurhxUT5KLEPN_ZN22KutQY7aUNv5zjOHEi1EeTXsbegShTbHVnnq6OEDp2P8Yehd1Tzwpw6w_y38OdsP6bb7oxE4lKVx3Y3Ec/s1167/tree%201000.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1167" height="548" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQuILRdQrLEmz2KNQWqVCr3TK6sJzXkbaJobRzPA3HufDMltpojxiiOn3GZga5Ovlnfdq9p3EC7_aQ0_QR06ESUxRnkDurhxUT5KLEPN_ZN22KutQY7aUNv5zjOHEi1EeTXsbegShTbHVnnq6OEDp2P8Yehd1Tzwpw6w_y38OdsP6bb7oxE4lKVx3Y3Ec/w640-h548/tree%201000.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>

<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">If
you notice the small picture we are coloring it is a copy of the full
size picture to be done yet. The OFM was introduced to the concept of
coloring a small copy of the real drawing to work out which colors go
where and exactly the color that will be used on the final effort. So
far it seems to be a very worthwhile thing to do especially since the
OFM is so inexperienced at this coloring business</span></span></p>
<p><span face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Tonight

</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The
morning arrived with decent weather temps and the promise of a decent
day in anticipation of the cold front due tonight. So our first
effort was to make the front arrive early so we went to take care of
grocery needs. Sure enough the rain started right after we turned
into the grocery parking lot. Any way we got the job done and met a
couple of nice folks inside the store. But the rain stayed all day. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Here
is the view the Teams had from the table in the living area.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZS0rmmQRDiMQTd_6jBzYOQgwYqic1xhrxbOQYLdQWI0_bF3eU6cjUA7e5rK3V_dBe90PDFgrlPmk3RwTwJEFs414JUYbGY6axOAkEsshxXdJ0hiUPJAcS1cj_o7IKWB4PooY4154kG7NlxysYRuGBFpY03Eb43jmZgZcLlor3rRVBmoFk5DTjqwZ9yUE/s1333/window%20view.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZS0rmmQRDiMQTd_6jBzYOQgwYqic1xhrxbOQYLdQWI0_bF3eU6cjUA7e5rK3V_dBe90PDFgrlPmk3RwTwJEFs414JUYbGY6axOAkEsshxXdJ0hiUPJAcS1cj_o7IKWB4PooY4154kG7NlxysYRuGBFpY03Eb43jmZgZcLlor3rRVBmoFk5DTjqwZ9yUE/w640-h480/window%20view.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">But
we are well stocked for good eating for about a week now.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then
the rest of the rainy day was spent at the table doing art efforts or
day dreaming about places we could roll to. We think our real job was
to keep the table heavily cluttered all day.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTpqS8KJCqKhO96Fv4WsuooyAL1YNr30rzOzYinT9CU4BiTvoRlT-iPfWtuSQaaXwTOft-KwLNNctUXBvk9s33_uhmqUGf-E7WzFQOTegFzqaqOytK9E7KFzaFBHXeRIgCQPvgXfbpOJQ2Cdnyk8YeQwTvKxQ8K8roCjyQiEjS6sQGbXfNgCdtigRMs4o/s1314/art%20table.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1314" height="488" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTpqS8KJCqKhO96Fv4WsuooyAL1YNr30rzOzYinT9CU4BiTvoRlT-iPfWtuSQaaXwTOft-KwLNNctUXBvk9s33_uhmqUGf-E7WzFQOTegFzqaqOytK9E7KFzaFBHXeRIgCQPvgXfbpOJQ2Cdnyk8YeQwTvKxQ8K8roCjyQiEjS6sQGbXfNgCdtigRMs4o/w640-h488/art%20table.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We
did a great job of that.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And
that pretty well sums up all of our exciting adventures today. We
need some help with this having tooooo much fun stuff. Good night.</span></span></p>

<p> <span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">First
the bad news from New Mexico to aid in making camping choices for the
summer time and after. The story we have noticed circulating is that
all the good camping deals NM is known for are void starting in July.
All campsites in a NM state park will be $40 a night. Other good
deals on using the parks are supposed to go up big amounts also. We
do not know that these are facts for sure and as of tonight only
partial changes or announcements were available on the NM State Parks
site. This is all we know for now.</span></span></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Moving
on now to another beautiful day in north Alabama. This is the trail
out from the back of the campground. It ties into the trail system
approximately where most of the trails that make up the trails
complex come together. It is a very well done complex of trails.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQHD-ah6k0xThf_TI8s-xzOKbLGMPysfXZ6T9qMP4uhxtiTk8QfRE2U2TBDfp08ZoFb8tnlhRufJQ4ZN7toKhVrwkaDuYhaI-WE6Hd-Xzyi5gCN13xKnH2bzlLIH4iCXlcEnSzgobRpGc1AcamvkukCcuew1YjdWbhPM8Z7mJ_3IWJ30ibCordzvm5n9E/s1333/back%20path%201000.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQHD-ah6k0xThf_TI8s-xzOKbLGMPysfXZ6T9qMP4uhxtiTk8QfRE2U2TBDfp08ZoFb8tnlhRufJQ4ZN7toKhVrwkaDuYhaI-WE6Hd-Xzyi5gCN13xKnH2bzlLIH4iCXlcEnSzgobRpGc1AcamvkukCcuew1YjdWbhPM8Z7mJ_3IWJ30ibCordzvm5n9E/w640-h480/back%20path%201000.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And
the guardian of the trail complex is the Big Eye Long Nose Monster
who roams the trails and keeps an eye on EVERYTHING that happens. But
it is a friendly monster.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNtou5sWCuOMdGEJ7QacsSMBDjk0PVcC2FBINyO_fXK1SeUhQhxh9UEnvB_vYfRnR1WSozOjmnRwEoYbNoZdK5ix8bC-KQVpByX_e-f-68HFJEjtKPRLDoWlNrYKSJznMZkFpFior8Ry-1RrXJnSLEVozNCZqZTzo8MO90bxzP6oyTyF0vLwZoH2xIo3M/s1282/BIG%20EYE%20MONSTER.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1282" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNtou5sWCuOMdGEJ7QacsSMBDjk0PVcC2FBINyO_fXK1SeUhQhxh9UEnvB_vYfRnR1WSozOjmnRwEoYbNoZdK5ix8bC-KQVpByX_e-f-68HFJEjtKPRLDoWlNrYKSJznMZkFpFior8Ry-1RrXJnSLEVozNCZqZTzo8MO90bxzP6oyTyF0vLwZoH2xIo3M/w640-h500/BIG%20EYE%20MONSTER.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /> </span></span>
<p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Some
water is still standing on or near the trail pathways so we took the
paved trail/road today to keep our tootsies dry. Today was warm as
about 71F about noon with gentle breeze. But the OFM teams still did
not want to walk in wet shoes.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAQNhuLTZKQOYzhmA3ibOtnFs-o1Mc_gbDNigSJobpzHGBtbeIWJSA7_d1wMbyOAxg7rGia3NzN3Hjv9byfRjNKIZ3FIaXttK6pggLUdl-aiq21jDoWBIGo0yFK0xRlsp5y74kukRaTvkqcYImlycdvwtRbV4t4KEDxG-1oWOkbIJCDeTFMJWd-e_WOKs/s1325/flood%20path1000.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="626" data-original-width="1325" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAQNhuLTZKQOYzhmA3ibOtnFs-o1Mc_gbDNigSJobpzHGBtbeIWJSA7_d1wMbyOAxg7rGia3NzN3Hjv9byfRjNKIZ3FIaXttK6pggLUdl-aiq21jDoWBIGo0yFK0xRlsp5y74kukRaTvkqcYImlycdvwtRbV4t4KEDxG-1oWOkbIJCDeTFMJWd-e_WOKs/w640-h302/flood%20path1000.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>

going on.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Good
grief it has been a busy day but very beautiful day for a nice
change. It is still very damp but we found it dried out enough to
have an excellent walk today and get a few pictures of nature also.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Along
the way to nowhere special on the first of the trail we met up with a
very nice full size poodle. We hit it off well for a couple of
minutes then when the owner got there the poodle went ahead with the
exploring it was doing. Then the owner and the OFM spent some time
chatting until the poodle came back to get the owner to come with
the walking. We said good byes as the OFM chuckled at the politeness
of the pup. We like to meet all the dogs on the trail if possible.
They are fun to meet normally.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A
bit farther along the trail was what the OFM calls peaceful bench
because for the last twelve years he has had to sit on it a few times
to get some rest from heat or muscle troubles and it has always been
a nice spot to recuperate at.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOtT16pp6Its3If_vPe645QJWgqYdOQl_xjcYfNfArjqNIvD1n2ZZbfOgR7TAargUVFkA8jRT7q0KJ5kvGEiye3tJSZ7XHlnXy-kiTHp607B9rrk6tmfZ-HLto0gA6Uv4jePmLN4kc7y3nRo0A19xzDlMSruT42shCxtUbweb3Q0EXljZz_Ty0W1Nq5lA/s2048/PEACEFUL%20BENCH.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="733" data-original-width="2048" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOtT16pp6Its3If_vPe645QJWgqYdOQl_xjcYfNfArjqNIvD1n2ZZbfOgR7TAargUVFkA8jRT7q0KJ5kvGEiye3tJSZ7XHlnXy-kiTHp607B9rrk6tmfZ-HLto0gA6Uv4jePmLN4kc7y3nRo0A19xzDlMSruT42shCxtUbweb3Q0EXljZz_Ty0W1Nq5lA/w640-h230/PEACEFUL%20BENCH.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Since
we are on benches, this next bench just accidentally happens to be at
the halfway point for many of the trails we put together to get in
enough distance for our needed exercise. It frequently is a
conversation spot for a few minutes as us old folk walkers pause.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfQRRc97-AVMWMZn2nFcKIyWFLYJYvrvQmVk8E0awcv9LhT5BgybiBSWCzFR1mTiiSIoIcb8Mx_piAhgugJPHxtiOFPfpyY5jQ8WVdZaGOTZY6pVFBgETNwh5tRdrHz5NH8Zdh0L0zAJR5HM7v5D3kacrGXFwe2UDoFhCuui68r8Qeu7eLUQyl1RPZuD0/s1333/HALFWAY%20BENCH.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfQRRc97-AVMWMZn2nFcKIyWFLYJYvrvQmVk8E0awcv9LhT5BgybiBSWCzFR1mTiiSIoIcb8Mx_piAhgugJPHxtiOFPfpyY5jQ8WVdZaGOTZY6pVFBgETNwh5tRdrHz5NH8Zdh0L0zAJR5HM7v5D3kacrGXFwe2UDoFhCuui68r8Qeu7eLUQyl1RPZuD0/w640-h480/HALFWAY%20BENCH.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">When
the OFM stopped for another pic, he stepped off the trail to try for
a better angle and was shuffling his feet in the leaves when a very
polite dark gray with pretty green stripes eighteen inch long snake
eased out of the leaves a couple of inches from the OFM toes near it.
We said our polite howdies and each one of us went our own way. Nope
the OFM did not catch the snake's name but it was a very polite
critter.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And
then back to the Castle to finish out the evening with a bit of art
efforts, fixing supper and writing this blog while relaxing with
great success. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It
has been a great day of nice events and good conversations with nice
folks and several very happy pups and one polite snake. Sleep well everyone. </span></span>

</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: March 5, 2024</span></span></p>
<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The morning started
well even though it was lightly raining all over the area. Sierra
found the Doctor's office with fifteen minutes to spare. When we
entered the office they were ready with new paperwork for the OFM to fill
out. To our surprise it had been five years since the last visit
there.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The entire place
seemed to have had new upgrades in equipment since our last visit. It
turned out to be a very good upgrade on everything we saw in the way
of equipment. The folks there were all extremely nice to work with.
The doctor used all the latest equipment the OFM had been reading
about and it really made the exam a lot easier and we think much
better over all. My Eye Doc is the name of the office.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The doc spent a good
while very explicitly looking at the damage eye from a year and a
half ago. We discussed symptoms of the healing etc. The final eye
glasses testing was a bit different than what the OFM was used to but
part of the new better way of doing things. The final conclusion was
that we have more healing to do on the inside of the eye but some
particular glasses changes can help that eyes work-ability. He thinks
we may have another year before the healing is finished since the
injury was so bad to start with over a year and a half ago.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The glasses sales lady
was very helpful and knowledgeable and of all weird things she
understood the OFM's odd requests and we discussed them until she
pulled out the magic frame that fit the OFM face immediately. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Even with all of my
particular wants and questions the Teams walked out about 0945. The
new glasses are due in about two weeks.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">In case you have not
noticed Public School spring break is next week. And Day Light
Savings change is next Sunday. This will be a busy couple of weeks it
looks like. We are really hoping to roll out for a short trip soon
after the new glasses prove themselves.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We have pretty much
notified everyone that we plan to try out home basing here at Point
Mallard and do loop trips for a bit to see how some of the aging
difficulties are going to work out. For example a loop trip is easily
done as a loop from here down to Rockport Tx across to Falcon Lake Tx
to Palo Duro Canyon and then back to Point Mallard in five weeks
without hurrying. We are wanting to be here for special family events
and rolling between them. We will see how it works out.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Have fun every one.</span></span></p>Barney, The Old Fat Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14242837062100545160noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185773006740725325.post-36962515638425010792024-03-04T20:39:00.003-06:002024-03-04T20:39:56.811-06:00Spring Stuck Its Toe In The Door<div style="text-align: left;"> </div><p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Adventure Location: </span></span>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: March 4, 2024</span></span></p>
<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We got in a very nice
walk today of about 2.4 miles and found a very nice surprise along
the way. The spring flower bloom has started and we are really
thankful. The first ones we spotted were near the soccer field and
were white flowers growing close to the ground on lots of territory.
That was a nice surprise when they came into view.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha1ldcQpn6j2koXGlnoqb3t0yYOngE2kN-ixKD55NLc5zoJv04a6UzSKWvljp0HKhHzaIO0kHLD48VODYXjqaU-IPakpEKSwzXXJFoZwhOYucu7sftsB26vdKfWHkeKxS7aZdiOF-Tcfh_-YDJF_hJVnmJTJHdcYgpl4PIwoarm_klcJeLfTCIpIFMVqc/s1458/white%20flowers.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1458" height="438" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha1ldcQpn6j2koXGlnoqb3t0yYOngE2kN-ixKD55NLc5zoJv04a6UzSKWvljp0HKhHzaIO0kHLD48VODYXjqaU-IPakpEKSwzXXJFoZwhOYucu7sftsB26vdKfWHkeKxS7aZdiOF-Tcfh_-YDJF_hJVnmJTJHdcYgpl4PIwoarm_klcJeLfTCIpIFMVqc/w640-h438/white%20flowers.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">As we continued along, the yellow ground flowers were beginning to send up scattered flowers
now and then in the area. We bet soon there will be lots of them
showing off.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYX1o6n9NnKznNmsVwgYsLu_-J_2j25UEGbuiS_kzmLMzt86kgqNXr0dKN9BovgJzVWG864JMr10BHuet7TriWr8GbLH5hHAIIGe7VPBRuR7pVJhuo2LFDW7Fbg_GWmHTnjkxPITB0oZQSMgKKVT28aOa5YiGMXzYlZ7at12NU45NjnYInc7q8r9wrfQQ/s1282/yellow%20flpwers.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1282" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYX1o6n9NnKznNmsVwgYsLu_-J_2j25UEGbuiS_kzmLMzt86kgqNXr0dKN9BovgJzVWG864JMr10BHuet7TriWr8GbLH5hHAIIGe7VPBRuR7pVJhuo2LFDW7Fbg_GWmHTnjkxPITB0oZQSMgKKVT28aOa5YiGMXzYlZ7at12NU45NjnYInc7q8r9wrfQQ/w640-h500/yellow%20flpwers.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then as we neared a
white fence close to Flint Creek there were several very fresh
growths of moss (we think) along the line of the fence rails on the
ground. They were a very pretty green. We bet they would be difficult
to look correct as a colored pencil drawing,</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuZF6wRVRrGSHXsgMs_GfeUNAV9CzK5aXEGRxBGV9OPRK_NK0Uqegiay_eeT7QI_Lc3cJJPkWPuujepE_QMWiKwoUY7Bf7NOapWqkllgECSrtSlIIiRpIzKkBkSUqU9Iyobm_wMLA2_fGzCy7tz33q_tueUecPDJVZOdU_DIgMQ1SGPwY1wVZNOxCOqXU/s1800/green%20moss.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="686" data-original-width="1800" height="244" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuZF6wRVRrGSHXsgMs_GfeUNAV9CzK5aXEGRxBGV9OPRK_NK0Uqegiay_eeT7QI_Lc3cJJPkWPuujepE_QMWiKwoUY7Bf7NOapWqkllgECSrtSlIIiRpIzKkBkSUqU9Iyobm_wMLA2_fGzCy7tz33q_tueUecPDJVZOdU_DIgMQ1SGPwY1wVZNOxCOqXU/w640-h244/green%20moss.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then when we turned
onto the through the woods trail back to the campground we found lots
of small green leaves on the under brush of the trees. That also
looked very nice too see coming to life. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnQll8Fn0I7bjFF5angCzFyawWk5-ff-BR3X97SSQir6beRSU81-B3ZiHCpfP4yyN6JJQqncvlpSsGYrDYy5cSbcCZeB-zRgi1xJq1rZQXkZjDcrp0xAY7fB0zVQlRkG_wMgHzxVgFtCkTvyt0XoLIfZ2SN64Kh5bTESZ5otcBVaysUXetHoUfnEcYuoE/s1537/new%20leaves.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1537" height="416" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnQll8Fn0I7bjFF5angCzFyawWk5-ff-BR3X97SSQir6beRSU81-B3ZiHCpfP4yyN6JJQqncvlpSsGYrDYy5cSbcCZeB-zRgi1xJq1rZQXkZjDcrp0xAY7fB0zVQlRkG_wMgHzxVgFtCkTvyt0XoLIfZ2SN64Kh5bTESZ5otcBVaysUXetHoUfnEcYuoE/w640-h416/new%20leaves.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br />
</span></span>
<p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It looks like the ice
storm from a few weeks ago left us enough good vegetation to give us
an exciting spring soon.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We very recently
noticed SPRING BREAK is next week so we are giving careful thought
how to stay safely out of that mess.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We plan to be back
here next June through to September 15 for the summer heat.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">However we are still
hoping to get in a few weeks of travels this spring if things will
just quit breaking down and let us roll.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">In the meantime every
one work on having tooooo much fun.</span></span></p>

<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It was a dreary day
all day but the weather was not bad, only dreary. Some things got
taken care of inside and grocery shopping to top off the food supply.
That was about all the excitement we could kick up. Two short walks
did happen but the OFM legs were not feeling like long walks so each
one was about a slow mile. Here is a picture of the beautiful day
during lunch time.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirqYCQdQB4iNttxbpGeq7E4F_Sm12KdqIyFJXu8gziFSsDTVgGpHy6XhIKOkVRssEgeEZ6cTp6EJHo-2BG_FPGzJ_vJgvpU0hurQ9ZciF8MBQsKononfijTgFIDV1hfvYofxy5MkzB_WR4yiLsPh7pStFP7Xu-sQWwwfvgukma5FvjW39y1ZhCL59W030/s1000/noon%20pic.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="750" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirqYCQdQB4iNttxbpGeq7E4F_Sm12KdqIyFJXu8gziFSsDTVgGpHy6XhIKOkVRssEgeEZ6cTp6EJHo-2BG_FPGzJ_vJgvpU0hurQ9ZciF8MBQsKononfijTgFIDV1hfvYofxy5MkzB_WR4yiLsPh7pStFP7Xu-sQWwwfvgukma5FvjW39y1ZhCL59W030/w480-h640/noon%20pic.JPG" width="480" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Later in the day the
leg/knees yuck eased off and we went out on a different path and got
this “great picture” of a winter reflection.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9gSt9dea0YQs3VpcnAx-i8t2kzJkb8JqvNPzRSbMdhaAoTCc_FYRPoBU9YznHn73REpcBBugz6arBCUAHfcbY5-cZ2Or9-Eep_b70eD0zbJ8hOeHKcbxucQb_95s506PwOUENGmSs4Yt-oiXS4n-9JGGZ_gzT-pELr7pzBEK9fHzLJCmwqkicT5iTMc4/s1333/evening%20reflection.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9gSt9dea0YQs3VpcnAx-i8t2kzJkb8JqvNPzRSbMdhaAoTCc_FYRPoBU9YznHn73REpcBBugz6arBCUAHfcbY5-cZ2Or9-Eep_b70eD0zbJ8hOeHKcbxucQb_95s506PwOUENGmSs4Yt-oiXS4n-9JGGZ_gzT-pELr7pzBEK9fHzLJCmwqkicT5iTMc4/w640-h480/evening%20reflection.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">WOW that is exciting
isn't it. At least nothing bad happened and no ambulances made a run
out to the campground today. That is it for the report. Try to have
tooooo much fun to make up for us OFDs (old fuddy duddys).</span></span></p>

<p>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Today was the
gymnastics Alabama State competition for my grandson. They have some
really excellent kids for this level of gymnasts showing off their
skills. The target age for this level is eleven years old.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The OFM got there
early to get a front row bleacher seat to really enjoy the action out
on the floor for the several hours of the contest.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">When the awards were
handed out a little after noon, my grandson did not win any event.
HOWEVER he did place high enough in many events and came in at number
five overall for the contest. We were very proud of his finish spot
among all the state contestants.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Now it is late and the
OFM is wiped out tired so we are headed to snooze land for the night.</span></span></p>Barney, The Old Fat Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14242837062100545160noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185773006740725325.post-37206672654397636922024-03-01T19:42:00.001-06:002024-03-01T19:42:58.061-06:00Neighborhood Tour<div style="text-align: left;"> </div><p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Adventure Location: </span></span>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: March 1, 2024</span></span></p>
<p> <span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">(Same starting line
as yesterday.)</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It has been a dreary
cold damp nasty day for most of the day. But today the OFM did not
even try to get in a walk except to the office to transact a bit of
business. But let us start at the beginning. The weather rained
gently but for most of the day. So since we were already water logged
we are giving a wonderful tour of the Castle's home site that we
really like, especially since the neighbors are fantastic.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Here is the view
looking to the back of the site into the woods from the entry door
(westerly).</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfuvk_O_3NephWs0jaNjRt2ChrqWMMjmwGffsGwQnxu4EH6vbP1idt5lFzH3Qj_JsXXGqt8piBCNGbM-p1GhpLMfDxlYfdjT1FApmGNibrm69I87_awMTK6b3ix-ZP201WbmruZgOy-erxBU7K9fIMsvmxpWx54psCBwu9udosiKOeQNlMplR32ZOyzt0/s1333/front%20yard.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfuvk_O_3NephWs0jaNjRt2ChrqWMMjmwGffsGwQnxu4EH6vbP1idt5lFzH3Qj_JsXXGqt8piBCNGbM-p1GhpLMfDxlYfdjT1FApmGNibrm69I87_awMTK6b3ix-ZP201WbmruZgOy-erxBU7K9fIMsvmxpWx54psCBwu9udosiKOeQNlMplR32ZOyzt0/w640-h480/front%20yard.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then we stepped out
into the light rain and walked to the front of the Castle and looked
south on the campground road.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvG37uoOmsQog5lOgk5zguaGEfOojG3QSOn-ZdJT7sMV7gubJqN_yHP5AFO8nd-TIE0-2lQiFEsEe8J1jZO_QOUJt5oobfgE4aDhSEQo-tJnuKLLq2ix4-lluQR3cQ_pRa6YVVNUG0ZC0gH5feWSf82ko67uCnnW08869q9ddjgSL50vTV6CbxGsGJCxo/s1333/front%20street.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvG37uoOmsQog5lOgk5zguaGEfOojG3QSOn-ZdJT7sMV7gubJqN_yHP5AFO8nd-TIE0-2lQiFEsEe8J1jZO_QOUJt5oobfgE4aDhSEQo-tJnuKLLq2ix4-lluQR3cQ_pRa6YVVNUG0ZC0gH5feWSf82ko67uCnnW08869q9ddjgSL50vTV6CbxGsGJCxo/w640-h480/front%20street.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then we hiked all the
way to the north side of the Castle (25 feet) to get this picture of
the utilities side of the Castle and the side yard on that side.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBnOtezFQ9jdTeLtLXmFDVu8q4gEJ8MaD7b2MQKhEX_QZMGm5ZHL1xHSYVaVJA92fADivMDtHtzfCgmrdsPY3FTxGO6LZnPoEF8MBmAI_r0LOAOPStZ-TlFwjPMNP0TUZrRhqOe-ebqPT-H9pnGbRpSCxW5dbWz4VBv0Gz4QvWsBtXzcoCNljATgpqr98/s1333/side%20yard.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBnOtezFQ9jdTeLtLXmFDVu8q4gEJ8MaD7b2MQKhEX_QZMGm5ZHL1xHSYVaVJA92fADivMDtHtzfCgmrdsPY3FTxGO6LZnPoEF8MBmAI_r0LOAOPStZ-TlFwjPMNP0TUZrRhqOe-ebqPT-H9pnGbRpSCxW5dbWz4VBv0Gz4QvWsBtXzcoCNljATgpqr98/w640-h480/side%20yard.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then we needed to
visit the office for camping business so we walked the hundred feet
or so to the office door and took this picture of the inside lobby.
They maintain a small general stuff including foods and hard goods
campers might need. The campground is about five miles to a Walmart
Neighborhood Market so forgetting something at the grocery store is
easy to fix.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGGBt9uds63Kev7_Z-L4eup6JtaNbg2j5xCPp6bwm46pRFCckNebYk7mqdo8ChDvhwOpbBJGDWaHvlr6qdYi0OgJgjYWuSpEfNEX1S727FpqBY4nF_O6AN3Ws2iwWCQWvLUI0eKPdWwacPdsK5N0hyphenhyphenR2aLY5VFosXgsUaznwgpXz-3laOQvSXrTv4NeRs/s1333/offfice%20layout.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGGBt9uds63Kev7_Z-L4eup6JtaNbg2j5xCPp6bwm46pRFCckNebYk7mqdo8ChDvhwOpbBJGDWaHvlr6qdYi0OgJgjYWuSpEfNEX1S727FpqBY4nF_O6AN3Ws2iwWCQWvLUI0eKPdWwacPdsK5N0hyphenhyphenR2aLY5VFosXgsUaznwgpXz-3laOQvSXrTv4NeRs/w640-h480/offfice%20layout.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">All the folks that
work the Office and store are extra friendly and helpful.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">To stay in out of the
rains and cold we worked on the next coloring. It has a working name
of DESERT BIRDS but will likely will get a new name when it is
finished. Here is a view of it in well UNFINISHED effort. The
lighting is way away from what it will have for the finished
coloring. It is a 3.5” x 4.5” size coloring. It is ready for the
initial coloring to be modified/changed/or finagled with as much as
we want to get the mood set to what ever our final choice. That
usually takes about three weeks of piddling and messing around with
the whole color scheme to get the OFM happy with it all. </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0IKIo3TpIvZBtXLxm7v5ya-wLxx4GJ6r_4-NvUmYh07JZEPeTRGMGGdORCZPAcmkXzp0U6rH2_eqFRV8siBUBCFo7pkXAKA9Pbk5UBwXp-GaKvxbdbVLxAD4n0ISWqh9CQK_odJwUAbpgJzBQi36R5du92wJgzmiLwHl4EcIxdWLext0uA7D2lcuR5NU/s1307/cactus%20bird.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1307" data-original-width="1176" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0IKIo3TpIvZBtXLxm7v5ya-wLxx4GJ6r_4-NvUmYh07JZEPeTRGMGGdORCZPAcmkXzp0U6rH2_eqFRV8siBUBCFo7pkXAKA9Pbk5UBwXp-GaKvxbdbVLxAD4n0ISWqh9CQK_odJwUAbpgJzBQi36R5du92wJgzmiLwHl4EcIxdWLext0uA7D2lcuR5NU/w576-h640/cactus%20bird.JPG" width="576" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: xx-large;">Everyone

</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: February 29,
2024</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It has been a dreary
cold damp nasty day for most of the day. BUT a good thing happened
early this morning when an eye doctor had an opening next Tuesday for
the OFM to get a new glasses prescription. So at 08am next Tuesday
the Teams need to be at the front door of his office ready to get
examined. This is the eye doc from before the bad eye accident
happened a couple years ago. We shall find out what is next soon we
hope.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A walk in the nasty
weather did happen.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm9lcGYnZTRCdRUwI7GmB3qxbQwo9d_IZjSB9fT92-hh9cyIYhOhxFDAEQAgIfkmL7IP2AMTfunnu4L44QC9ZJNjLnFmc54pjGzk_Xt97IVM4Q1gZvJ0kVjfylbNdlu6ja_iaxFPPFE07WFFydy4vjuRRm3l78Jaz3mfI7EJHBsW_E7yImJXJtfQJ4E-w/s1333/today%20walk.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm9lcGYnZTRCdRUwI7GmB3qxbQwo9d_IZjSB9fT92-hh9cyIYhOhxFDAEQAgIfkmL7IP2AMTfunnu4L44QC9ZJNjLnFmc54pjGzk_Xt97IVM4Q1gZvJ0kVjfylbNdlu6ja_iaxFPPFE07WFFydy4vjuRRm3l78Jaz3mfI7EJHBsW_E7yImJXJtfQJ4E-w/w640-h480/today%20walk.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It was only a mile and
a miserable mile it was. We gladly cut it short and headed for inside
activities.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We have been looking
over the income tax mess and after getting some answers to some
questions today, we are going to take another try at understanding
the tax return with the help of the folks who did the first work. So
that is in the near future.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And after lunch at
Burger King in Priceville we messed around in Walmart considering
many different things for purchase since a lot of things in the
Castle are getting very worn likely will need replacing during this
next year. It has been a full day of efforts but a lot of organizing
has been accomplished.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The OFM is Ready for
new glasses so he can feel better about pulling a trailer on down the
road SAFELY with decent eyesight again. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Let us all relax and
get a great nights sleep.</span></span></p>

</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: February 28,
2024</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Today the main
exercise was running to get out of the cold rain a few times we tried
to be out and about. First thing this morning after breakfast was to
run to the nearby Local Walmart grocery. We had to run in the rain to
get inside and run to get into Sierra leaving. Then back at the
Castle we unloaded the groceries in a light rain. This was not a
wonderful beginning.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The temps were
dropping heading for near freezing tonight then mid fifties tomorrow.
So the Teams did the usual and prepared more stoup for suppers. And
as usual the stoup was different than the picture we took of the
original plan.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiynJb7JEAwD8rFIuJVaHvYzfPwrsX77Sdnk8TrcPPpnS-4iSDLKPM65BJCxtgYthkjz7iRrgEqdUoKPxp7nj6LZlKJ-2zWtDilMRe5wX22lR3bIFAsOp1CyZ1Z2bo1Rug8LnwSUYOdGAg6AUTmoeXjqk1x91aWpG3ga3c68TQx7B1Pf7JqJxU7SsjkV8o/s1101/stoup.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1101" height="582" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiynJb7JEAwD8rFIuJVaHvYzfPwrsX77Sdnk8TrcPPpnS-4iSDLKPM65BJCxtgYthkjz7iRrgEqdUoKPxp7nj6LZlKJ-2zWtDilMRe5wX22lR3bIFAsOp1CyZ1Z2bo1Rug8LnwSUYOdGAg6AUTmoeXjqk1x91aWpG3ga3c68TQx7B1Pf7JqJxU7SsjkV8o/w640-h582/stoup.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">But as usual it turned
out great with the added ingredients and based on a Knorr dry mix. We
now have another three meals in the freezer for a current total of
ten meals available. Who says the OFMan cannot cook?</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Not only that, we can
do laundry when it needs doing. Which was this afternoon. So we
grabbed the necessary items and headed to the campground laundry.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4F1whY9EutL-6DJYngijPsJ3yDRdh3l2kRky47fD8ozJwrhTT4SCzHHWXL7QC_jIoLFv70GaB_tYQOGWeVBTSKIo9dehxrO8FOKskZSdMgDtJbtcOrzA0Md0RmZ399_daP5DAJkvpPfUZbz-B0EhjY8xCBAMfdk2r970yMeeWszOWl8nI14RIifRkmUA/s1333/laundry%20room.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4F1whY9EutL-6DJYngijPsJ3yDRdh3l2kRky47fD8ozJwrhTT4SCzHHWXL7QC_jIoLFv70GaB_tYQOGWeVBTSKIo9dehxrO8FOKskZSdMgDtJbtcOrzA0Md0RmZ399_daP5DAJkvpPfUZbz-B0EhjY8xCBAMfdk2r970yMeeWszOWl8nI14RIifRkmUA/w640-h480/laundry%20room.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The running time for a
wash and dry is about an hour and the laundry stays pretty clean all
the time. Total coins cost was $2.50. Soon back at the Castle we had
everything back in its place and we did not get rained on coming or
going to the laundry room.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">And that is how
domestic duty for this RVer went today.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We hope everyone has a
good time trying to have tooooo much fun tomorrow. Good Night.</span></span></p>Barney, The Old Fat Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14242837062100545160noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185773006740725325.post-19568177384048394652024-02-27T19:35:00.000-06:002024-02-27T19:35:40.325-06:00Simplifying Again<div style="text-align: left;"> </div><p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Adventure Location: </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: February 27,
2024</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The night of Feb 25 we
had two ambulance runs inside the campground. Today we found out both
cases were men with heart mis- adventures that they survived. We did
not know either of them and do wish them good luck with the
recoveries.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">This morning was not
right for decent walking. The winds were really gusting and strong
with light sprinkle mixed in to liven things up bit. We passed on
that excitement.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We even put off a
local grocery store run until better weather weather tomorrow. Most
of the day was spent piddling into our future to try to set up some
plans for fun.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Probably the most fun
item was trying to work out what our next coloring effort will be
like. The effort we were trying again to use water color pencils was
scrapped and cut up to be note pad paper. We typically cut up junk
paper to note pad size and hold it together with a binder clip. It
sure is cheaper than buying note pads at the store and turns trash
into worthwhile items.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Tonight we finally
broke down and went to Lawlers BBQ to get a Tuesday special stuffed
potato. It was very good and will supply one more meal for the OFM
Teams. $8.50.</span></span></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">One other little chore
The OFM is doing is inventorying The Castle and Sierra to see what
else we can get rid of. In the last year aging has caused some small
and some large changes in our future living style. We are finding it
good to go through each storage spot in the vehicles, Castle and
Sierra to verify that the items are still something we still think we
could need in our future. Or as importantly can the OFM still use the
item or do we need something different in our arsenal of stuff. So
far for the last month it has proven very valuable to make these
changes.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We seem to be getting
closer to fitting perfectly in a good bit shorter rig without
scrunching up at all. We just like a very simple lifestyle.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Not a lot
accomplished today but we did make a second run to Hurricane Creek
Park a bit north of Cullman Alabama. Put that name in a computer
search and lots of nice pictures will come up to view. The first time
we went there the OFM was having illness like flu symptoms and the
trail at the start of the three mile path was just too much for him.
Today he was in decent walking shape but the beginning of the trail
was still too much for his wobbly walk. So once again we called it
NOPE due to his physical inabilities. Check out the photos in that
web site and make your own decision if the trail is fine for your
ability or not.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">It is definitely in a
beautiful very rugged part of the area and we wish the OFM was 20
years younger and did not have so many wobbly leg joints.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The rest of the day
was spent playing with the watercolor pencils trying to feel
comfortable doing coloring using them. Along about dark we finally
gave up on the watercolor pencils for our third time this year and
put them away. Back to colored pencils was the decision. So tomorrow
we will be searching for our next coloring project.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">No matter what; get
busy enjoying your life because it is tooooo much fun to waste.</span></span></p>Barney, The Old Fat Manhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14242837062100545160noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3185773006740725325.post-17643712950818458862024-02-25T20:02:00.000-06:002024-02-25T20:02:53.865-06:00Gray Bird<div style="text-align: left;"> </div><p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Adventure Location: </span></span>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A fabulous day greeted
us this at first crack of the Castle's door to check the outside.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrP4uo9dMsQrjlULdSd7gB4D2XHhWR8FyPzngZlRqw5PGghAWZ6fRBoG8k06lTeQ-aNTryTBdiee6me5LVNpvXBWPnxSbHeUbOkInv2ZXcl4c5vCchO0x8w52v1NlyO3AqNRLrNx8lEFjWPUTfeEM6ZWK_t8fY6YMuLU3B-ee3YrmTosVMxwlMbwzyHb4/s2026/morning%20sun.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1258" data-original-width="2026" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrP4uo9dMsQrjlULdSd7gB4D2XHhWR8FyPzngZlRqw5PGghAWZ6fRBoG8k06lTeQ-aNTryTBdiee6me5LVNpvXBWPnxSbHeUbOkInv2ZXcl4c5vCchO0x8w52v1NlyO3AqNRLrNx8lEFjWPUTfeEM6ZWK_t8fY6YMuLU3B-ee3YrmTosVMxwlMbwzyHb4/w640-h398/morning%20sun.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">That is the morning
sunshine that slammed happily into our eyes to start our day. And the
day got better as it went along.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The temp was about 67F
and a hint of a breeze. When we finished breakfast the Teams looked
at each other and got them walking shoes on and away we went to
gather in all those good feelings out there. A new combination of
trails was chosen and boy were they good. We ended up walking along
what we call Flint Creek Beach when the lake levels are down and here
is what it looks like on a good day.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwA93YucdUA5hvVUX__K3W8vuDsX1yR-UTRePYTC5JRed1UuLjSQ_z7wejGSGa6iNw2GYF_SgbBGAdfRH7DTbWWbFXqeCKajERJAFUK-YeYvQGSI2r2pBxRLVdOfUuop9w5usWzOuzG6tMKdAEX6t_2rblfSh1D43rJZNj30TouUaTETfnS-1Qh5Zkqh4/s1333/flint%20creek%20beach.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1333" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwA93YucdUA5hvVUX__K3W8vuDsX1yR-UTRePYTC5JRed1UuLjSQ_z7wejGSGa6iNw2GYF_SgbBGAdfRH7DTbWWbFXqeCKajERJAFUK-YeYvQGSI2r2pBxRLVdOfUuop9w5usWzOuzG6tMKdAEX6t_2rblfSh1D43rJZNj30TouUaTETfnS-1Qh5Zkqh4/w640-h480/flint%20creek%20beach.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">From here we motivated
along the trails toward the Tennessee River junction where there is a
bench to rest and enjoy watching the river flow by as Flint Creek
joins it from the left. This is a very good bench location in the hot
summer time. Lots of shade here then.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8YdplLXb_uYGcq9sypilIJzDO2U1mJ6TDGCSkFY8Vlkefkxk0GQAdasG3ISHo14NVyWaBtYN90x-jW48lElyn4AuclNBLiV664jl3i0LoAWhEYitcWtZrXUiOt1sj4sSBz6fkF8R6WVA_k6bGONNEnKsQRuIT03z91KxeoTBVY9CTkehcLYtU_lagoU/s1571/beach%20bench.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="1571" height="408" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8YdplLXb_uYGcq9sypilIJzDO2U1mJ6TDGCSkFY8Vlkefkxk0GQAdasG3ISHo14NVyWaBtYN90x-jW48lElyn4AuclNBLiV664jl3i0LoAWhEYitcWtZrXUiOt1sj4sSBz6fkF8R6WVA_k6bGONNEnKsQRuIT03z91KxeoTBVY9CTkehcLYtU_lagoU/w640-h408/beach%20bench.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">A little farther along
is where we like to turn back to the campground and we did. You get
your choice of three return routes and we chose to stay near the
creek for our return. It ended up being 2.86 miles of walking and was
just right today.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Then we had lunch with
our normal lunch person Jerry and a wonderful time of visiting. His
girlfriend is on her way back from nursing a friend down in lower
Florida and he is glad to know she is headed back home.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">After lunch the OFM
Teams went back to the Castle to work on the latest coloring but a
nap got in the way and delayed things about 45 minutes AND IT FELT
REALLY GOOD. But we did finish the coloring Gray Bird and mounted the
coloring in a handy frame for your enjoyment.</span></span></p>
<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilatPMEAR4pShIkrf3qDho2LWtn9_WB6BLPY3NvLBWvMAgGet_eSAdgsxKuo4JJaMawF3ZIgBL32VAcF5veIYTW9La9t36qK8AaCaiYFPnKKtWgqe45hsrewpDSl9K1XQND-qxSizT9KQB2LVBxoZtCdLADUGIg_6BcE1vvVXnCLKcOxh41BZeTl_Mq98/s1492/gray%20bird.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1492" data-original-width="1062" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilatPMEAR4pShIkrf3qDho2LWtn9_WB6BLPY3NvLBWvMAgGet_eSAdgsxKuo4JJaMawF3ZIgBL32VAcF5veIYTW9La9t36qK8AaCaiYFPnKKtWgqe45hsrewpDSl9K1XQND-qxSizT9KQB2LVBxoZtCdLADUGIg_6BcE1vvVXnCLKcOxh41BZeTl_Mq98/w456-h640/gray%20bird.JPG" width="456" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">That pretty well takes
care of a very good day of enjoyable events for the OFM Teams. </span></span>
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Sleep well and have
tooooo much fun tomorrow.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: February 24,
2024</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The OFM life is
slowing down a good bit it seems and his age is contributing to some
of the slowing down. A nice long talk with an older friend this
afternoon led to a discussion about our futures. OFM is 77 right now
and Old Friend is 83 and we had some wonderful conversation about
what our aging is causing in our lives. He has Rved a lot during his
life and the OFM is in year 17 of full time Rving. Both of us are
finding limits to our get up and go.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Nothing really
exciting happened today. The mile morning walk got a nice start with
this beautiful little cloud supervising our walk down to the dumpster
with the trash.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3FZgOw12FirGLrehFWvuECUBX8VA4FG5KM0-i2MtkNCPqiMDtLqSMFMNzTdKxts9XBiA6XwQfq09-bsUvdRc_hSio6A044k_xK_5ikHcdlZc4jXxuACSw4os-UxOjdP1RWvEr0_7LtsM5m5vC0Sw_YWDcnzGUbC3g1GMqCo3ldjUtJTbNweWUDMQ_0h0/s990/pretty%20cloud.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="914" data-original-width="990" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3FZgOw12FirGLrehFWvuECUBX8VA4FG5KM0-i2MtkNCPqiMDtLqSMFMNzTdKxts9XBiA6XwQfq09-bsUvdRc_hSio6A044k_xK_5ikHcdlZc4jXxuACSw4os-UxOjdP1RWvEr0_7LtsM5m5vC0Sw_YWDcnzGUbC3g1GMqCo3ldjUtJTbNweWUDMQ_0h0/w640-h590/pretty%20cloud.JPG" width="640" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">The dumpsters seem to
fill up very fast these days. There are five large ones and as far as
I know they need emptying every morning. That is a lot of stuff 250+
campsites generate to haul away every day.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We did get in some
nice visits with local campers and the piles of fun they are having
lazing around the area.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We are working on
getting some new colorings started very soon but we are taking our
time choosing our task goal. FUN is still our primary goal of this
life we live now.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Every one relax and
take it easy tomorrow.</span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Decatur, Alabama</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Date: February 23,

<p><br /><br />
</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We got in a nice
meandering walk today sort of by accident and it ended up being about
2.5 miles. That is our guess after mapping all of the walk we could
recall this evening. But we do know it was very refreshing for the
Teams.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We also got a new
coloring finished after working on it now and then for the last
several weeks as the moment struck our fancy. It incorporates a
couple of new techniques we are still trying to become proficient
using.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXibDO8zImqjJHxxA2x6O2_yj0gtLRiBlqJDUjQ3mInsbEt8xxS53nlCwjJPyPGZOwjttnK0Yj6QLoJD0i2HtZYBlOeQSEB9URnvdZr1fy5KhuoZoop42hKdhYUTTAIg0uNHZSwnbVCyTKTVq4h_gYpPZyUNQc8ib94AGvSaX9QlgAtkWgHHXmx65U0_M/s2053/FLOWER%20SAMPLES.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2053" data-original-width="1692" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXibDO8zImqjJHxxA2x6O2_yj0gtLRiBlqJDUjQ3mInsbEt8xxS53nlCwjJPyPGZOwjttnK0Yj6QLoJD0i2HtZYBlOeQSEB9URnvdZr1fy5KhuoZoop42hKdhYUTTAIg0uNHZSwnbVCyTKTVq4h_gYpPZyUNQc8ib94AGvSaX9QlgAtkWgHHXmx65U0_M/w528-h640/FLOWER%20SAMPLES.JPG" width="528" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">We finally got a new
neighbor next door. That site has been empty for about 3-4 weeks.
They have a fifth wheel that seems longer than legal. We hope to meet
the folks tomorrow sometime. The OFM likes to know his neighbors.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Taking a short nap
today turned into a long nap and now the OFM feels a LOT better than
earlier today.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">When supper time came
home to the Castle, the OFM got lazy but innovative.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA7i1oQj3HC_11ndqKcHrFC-4hdANbq5rFpunM3rRtbGZti3poX9HjIX5cb_jfqMAam7Cm-MCmC5lpabic4iSmairvGc0gLN42QukCCMY_DNXYVvc6w_N4YP1Nr16MRHOWQZRAW8eD_BfnP1bi0BuRzTbRzukHDdJdK5XpO_nfUzqrVX9lbeip08SVpig/s1000/supper.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1000" data-original-width="983" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA7i1oQj3HC_11ndqKcHrFC-4hdANbq5rFpunM3rRtbGZti3poX9HjIX5cb_jfqMAam7Cm-MCmC5lpabic4iSmairvGc0gLN42QukCCMY_DNXYVvc6w_N4YP1Nr16MRHOWQZRAW8eD_BfnP1bi0BuRzTbRzukHDdJdK5XpO_nfUzqrVX9lbeip08SVpig/w630-h640/supper.JPG" width="630" /></a></span></span></div><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></span><p></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Some Walmart pre-mix
salad mix, canned chicken and Lawlers BBQ sauce made a really fine
supper.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: xx-large;">So good in fact it is
on the repeat it list for meal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Alright everyone it is
time to kick back and relax as the spring weather moves into the area
with a gentle smoothness to make the OFM smile BIG.</span></span></p>
