Adventure Location: Rockport, Texas
The last few days have be reasonably busy but not really adventuresome. Cleaning desert dust out by the buckets full gets old quickly.
After nearly a month back here in Rockport, the OFM is getting some serious hitchitch. We are trying to get him to calm down since the HOT summer is soon to slam down on us.
As you know very well the OFM can find the darndest things interesting and tonight he proves it AGAIN.
While meandering around the boat docks the OFM noticed the fuzzy pilings and went to investigate. but first he had to check out the oysters at the end of the dock. After closer examination he realized that the oysters were growing on a water hose that had been in the harbor water way too long.
Oysters this size growing on your fresh water hose means that the hose has been down in the harbor water for a few years at least. Hmmmm.
Now on out to the other end of the dock to see the fuzzy piling.
It turns out the fuzzies are lichens growing on the piling. We have never seen lichens growing on a treated piling in a saltwater environment before. Here is a closer view. If we are wrong about this growth being lichens please comment and correct us.
Tomorrow starts a major garage sale at the harbor so the Teams will not be down at the harbor again until Monday most likely. Maybe that is ok since the OFM did not catch any fish today and the fish may need the rest. It has been an easy couple of days without much effort put into trying to have tooooo much fun.
