Thats All Folks (CANCELLED)

After 9 and a half years is it time to put OFM Adventures to bed. I have enjoyed the folks I have met due to this blog and most of the comments. Thank you for the many good years and friendly faces.
It has been fun trying to have tooooo much fun together.
This post is cancelled and the blog will restart April 17, 2017. This is Mr. Alter Ego typing and the Teams have regained control of the keyboard again. It was a tough fight but OFM Adventures will continue now. Thanks for your patience with that fool the OFM.

  1. I've enjoyed following your blog and your experiences from traveling to fishing down in the Gulf. I understand how you feel about blogging. I've only been at it for 5-1/2 years including the times I've quit for a while .. I still get the urge to shut it down.

Good luck to you, hang in there. I'll not be 65 until this May but I have to admit it is a big PIA getting older, so I understand your previous post.

    Adios

  12. Sorry to see this being the End since we've followed you for nearly the entire time. We'd hoped to be on that list of meeting you this year but our directions just didn't get us there. Maybe you could just write when you feel like it instead of making it an every day writing.
Be Safe and Enjoy having tooooo much fun!

  13. Sorry to hear that, but definitely understand how hard it is to keep up the blog. I'm having a hard enough time posting every couple of weeks. Don't know how you did it almost every day.
Glad we got to meet you, and wish you continued fun on the rest of your adventures.

  19. Well, this is a shame. I was thinking only a little while back that, particularly because of the way it’s written & illustrated with photos & drawings, this blog would make for some pretty excellent bedtime reading & a wonderful keepsake for grandkids about their grandpa’s adventures on the road.

Please do consider coming back at least once, though, to post a picture or two of the extraordinarily photogenic Gavin (get that kid an agent, pronto!) with his new baby sister when she finally decides to make her debut with his out-of-state contingent of “The Teams”.

  20. I've enjoyed your blog tremendously and hate to think of not being able to read about your adventures. I understand that there comes a time when "it's time", but I will certainly miss you as well as the good advice I've received from you.

  21. Oh No!!! What shall I do? I sure hope you change your mind and come back soon.

  22. Well that sucks. I hate to see you go Barney. You were one of the first couple of blogs that I started reading back before I knew what a blog was. I would go so far as to say that you were instrumental in getting me involved in blogging when I went full-time, and that was probably because you and I share a lot of the same concepts on how to full-time. I know you've helped a lot of people along the way, including me, and for that I will always be grateful.

I know the blogosphere won't shut down just because your gone, but there will be an empty space left in it where your pictures, your paintings, and your self-deprecating humor used to be.

  34. Aawww! Thanks Barney!!! I've had fun reading your adventures, wanting to be out there, somewhere. Just found out about all these blogs of RVers. Yours is one of my top five favorites, in no particular order. I had NO idea this lifestyle was possible. You've inspired me, old man and I just want to say thank you. Going to miss you. Love ya! 40. YIPPEE!!! I knew there was a good reason I didn't delete OFM from my blog roll. It's nice to have something to look forward to while waiting for the day us desk jockeys can cut loose. *big thumbs up*

  41. I just noticed the added word CANCELLED in your blog title on my blog sidebar so I tuned in this morning to see you were coming back today to post. It's a hard habit to break, this blogging stuff. I've deleted mine once and came back within the Blogger time limit to rebuild it with nothing missing. Other times I have announced I am quitting, then come back.

Just the past few days I've thought about stopping but for some reason it's hard to do.

Good to see you back and look forward to your new blog posts. Just remember everything thing does not have to be an adventure. The hounds and I write about a pretty boring life here in 'the tropics' and some people even like reading about it.

  42. It's pretty darn tough to quit blogging and I well understand your frustrations in wanting to pack it all in some days. But there's just something inside we Bloggers that keeps us going and keeps us coming back. Good for you in sticking with it and I hope you have many more great writing days ahead of you.
