A gentle day of staying out of the crowds and mayhem at
the pier was most of the day’s excitement. When the Truck took me past the pier
an ambulance was there loading a lady with her leg wrapped in a hip to ankle doohickey. She was sitting about half up and talking on
the phone. My guess is she fell in the
rocks. That hurts as I know from
experience. Hopefully that was not her only Mother’s Day gift.
My bed modification from a few weeks ago did not include
installing the lifting struts again. The
hope was that the bed would be light enough for me to easily lift to get to the
storage under it. It was not to be. Today was the first time that my hands and
head have ever installed one of those lifting struts. Measurements were taken
and guesses made before starting the installation. Then holes were drilled and brackets
installed. The moment of truth finally
came AND THE STRUT WORKED LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. Now that is a wonderful
surprise. The heavy bed platform and
mattress can now be easily lifted with one hand.
That left a little time this afternoon to go down to the
pier to fish. Pop was there and of
course he had caught a nice fish. Here it is posing with my toe.
We fished together and visited for about an hour. No more fish were caught so it was time for
me to leave so he could catch some more fish.
Another pleasant and gentle day it was all day. Those are nice for trying to have tooooo much
fun. TheOFM.
Great fix on the bed. Don't you just love it when something comes together like that? Good picture of your toe too - oh and the fish!!
ReplyDeleteLove your bed repair... and a great day fishing too. How can it get better than that?
