Adventure Location: Deming NM
The golf game started right on time and away we went in the cool air. By the fourth hole the wind was getting rather spirited and causing trouble. By hole six the small pebbles were beginning to fly. The golf ball was getting moved by the winds while sitting on the grass, in my case in the fairway. On the greens the ball was worse than an active Mexican jumping bean. We all agreed to call it quits after nine holes. As we were standing on the porch of the office the blowing sand started obscuring parts of the course and town. Yep it was time to hide out for the day.
Now what; since it is once again too miserable to be outside. Oh that’s right there are repairs to be made to the inside of the Castle. The curtain between the bedroom and the rest of the Castle had been accidentally torn from one of its clips that fit into the ceiling track. The curtain was taken down and a sewing job commenced.
Now this is not a hard job, but in an RV everything takes forever to do it seems. The original ultra thin monofilament thread was nearly invisible and very delicate. The strongest thread in the repair locker was the double strength thread that was used when the new fishing rod eyelets were installed on the fishing rod. It is black. After a few finger pricks and some careful scrutiny the task was finished.
Then the real test was re-hanging the curtain. YIPPEE it held. Here is proof.
All Right one chore down, infinity to go.
The shades on this Castle are held with tough strings in the position you place them. One of the string end holders had pulled out of the wall a couple of weeks ago and was awaiting my repair services. Luck was with me today. In the repair locker was a wide head RV furniture screw that had been waiting patiently for a few years to do some work. The screw that was holding the curtain attaching device in place was a short screw that barely went into the wall panel.
After measuring carefully to make certain that the new screw would not go through the wall and the outside fiberglass, the screw was installed. It is long enough that it goes nearly through the wall stud as well as the wall panel. Hopefully it will hold well.
WOW two down and a person should not push their luck, so a nice long nap was taken to the rocking of the Castle in the WIND.
We are supposed to finish the golf round tomorrow at one pm. That will be a good effort at trying to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM.
