Maybe astronomy should be my field. The chore was to go to the woodpile under the oak tree and pick up some fire wood for the office fireplace. The activity turned out to be seeing stars. As I stood up with an armload of logs, my noggin protected my shoulders from getting chewed up by the vicious tree limb. However a baseball cap and no hair on my head do not give enough protection on a cold day to prevent me from seeing stars. The pain ceased very soon and the vision came back, so the load was delivered.
Later back at the Castle a look was taken in the mirror and sure enough there was a good reason my scalp was tingling.
Old, thin, cold skin tears very easily doesn’t it.
The cold weather definitely was COLD. At the sculpture garden down at the harbor is the pillar with water running down it. Late evening was when these next pictures were taken. That is some serious ice build up on the pillar.
The ice was getting all sorts of artistic effects worn in it from the flowing water and blowing wind. Here is a miniature model of superman’s ice castle.
The cold breeze has shifted to the southeast but was still pretty brisk. Even my walk at the community park was cut short from the chill still in the air. It was wonderful to get outside in an effort of trying to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM.
Was warm here yesterday but got below freezing again for a few hours last night. Suppose to be close to 70 today.
ReplyDeleteYes old thin skin does tear easily and if it does not tear then it turns into a big ugly purple bruise. Sometimes it does both. That is what I get for not dying young.
