Adventure Location: Rockport, Texas
A link was passed on to me today by a friend about an exceptional harmonica player. It astonished me because never in my life had I heard a harmonica played at this level before.

There were lots of happenings here in the campground today. The folks to mark the utilities were out with their little orange flags and orange spray paint. There is one trailer left to move out and it leaves Wednesday morning. The digging is supposed to start tomorrow.
In this next picture you can see the site my friend Nancy used to occupy. The marked location goes right through where her trailer used to sit. She has actually gotten a nice site at a nearby campground. That is the one where the patio blocks were moved to.
When the digging starts, the work will be lightly covered in this blog. It is an expensive and fairly massive undertaking to happen right at peak earning season for an RV campground in Rockport.
The wind was incredibly strong down at the harbor. The water is still blown WAY OUT of the bays. There is a lot of bottom structure showing that has not been seen in years. When the cold weather hits Wednesday, the thin water will get a lot colder than it is now. After Thursday, it will hopefully actually be finished with winter around here, I HOPE.
My main activity for the next few days is studying a book on the history of the Big Bend NP area. Knowing more about the history of the area of my hiking should help me in the task of trying to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM.
Spent winter time with a childhood friend at Sargent, TX which is about 50 mi SE of you. One of his neighbors worked in Rockport and drove it every day.
ReplyDeleteBusted is my oldest son and I am retired and spending the winter in Yuma in my MH. Like it here, pricewise. Good luck in your future travels.
A correction for my readers. Sargent, Texas is about 80 miles northeast of Rockport. It is a neat place I used to go for fishing at times. Thank you for your good wishes, Ron.
