A Volley Ball Awakening

Aransas Pass, Texas

You may notice a few minor changes in the presentation of the blog now. The wind was blowing so hard this morning it rolled me out of bed. But my body did not hit the floor because the bedroom is so small another gust was able to use the wall to knock me back into the bed like a volley ball. OK OK OK it was out of bed time. By the time breakfast was over it was obvious that the plans for the day had to change. Paddling a yak in 25+ mph wind is not fun.

As the blog was checked for comments it was noticed that Blogger had added several new “enhancements” to play with. And play is what happened for a long time. A lot of the new features are really decent. When my playing was finished the new format was ready to publish.

When a friend’s blog was checked, it was a nice surprise to see GUMO had been playing on his blog also. Check it out by clicking GUMO in links I like on the right.

Mostly nothing was done in a big way today. The only trip away from the campground was down to the kayak launch. The tides are running VERY high and the launch area was nearly flooded. However the big festival here in Aransas Pass is tomorrow and the tents and carnival equipment are in place for entertainment. The price of entry is $5 with parking $3. It should be fun for those who want to bumper butt with the crowd in the hot sun and salt air.

My plans are to stay away from all the congestion and be cool as much as possible. To me that sounds like a good way to try to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM.

  1. The grass flats were pleasant yesterday morning.
It is pristine back there. We are back in San Antonio
today but hope to return in a couple weeks for more high tides and the full moon. Hope you are still in the area because you're reports are as helpful as they are entertaining.
