BACK HOME AGAIN and it is nice to be here. It was wonderful to visit my son and DIL and wonderful to be home again. The trip back was broken into two legs. The first was only about four hours. Today’s leg was nine hours. In both cases the only stops were necessity stops and back on the road. Fuel mileage was 19+ when running 70-72 and 20+ when running 60-65. Even at 55 the truck will not break 21mpg. So my optimum running speed is about 65.
Yesterday we were able to get a family picture with the line up being Fezzick, Melissa (DIL), Arthur (son) and the OFM. Aren’t we just a cute as can be?? The picture was taken by Amanda, Melissa’s sister, who will be in a later picture.

Fezzick is a personality plus puppy. Whenever someone new comes over, he gets so excited that he trips all over himself in greeting the new person. He is definitely everyone’s best friend. The other critter in the house is Smoky the cat. You have never met a more laid back cat in your life. Then without warning Smoky or Fezzick will decide it is time to play and attack the other. It is quite a tussle for a few minutes until they are worn out and decide it is nap time.
A mechanical mouse had been purchased that can run around on the floor for Smoky to play with. Nope not him. Fezzick goes berserk however. Arthur put that mouse on the floor and Fezzick attacks with great vigor for a long time. Finally we had to shut the mouse down to keep Fezzick from falling out with over exertion. The floor nearly had me rolling on it laughing at Fezzick’s antics. Getting a picture was difficult but here is the best Arthur got.
Both Melissa and Arthur are ‘puter nerd types. There are laptop computers laying all over the house and electronic devices doing all kinds of things. The house is vacuumed by one of them random motion vacuums cleaners that bounce all around the house. The yard is mown by a random action lawnmower that runs all over the yard cutting the grass here and there and finally getting the whole yard done. Here it is in action.
For lunch on Father’s Day we went to this Italian place where we had the pizza I wrote about yesterday. The sun was bright and the angle not the best, but here is ¾ of the pizza eating team greeting the mascot of the restaurant.
When I rolled into home about 3:30 pm today, I was in serious need of a nap. So I went to the office and grabbed my mail, unpacked the truck and fell into bed for about two hours of blissful sleep. Now after supper and writing the blog for tonight, I will sleep well as I dream of having tooooo much fun tomorrow. TheOFM.
