This morning I was ready to get out and purchase the new guaranteed to catch fish lures. So off to Wal-Mart my grand chariot took me. The proper lure purchases were made along with a couple of things needed for the trailer sewer system. Here they are the guaranteed lures.
Naturally they needed to get outdoors and catch fish. So we hopped into the truck and quickly arrived at the specified spot. Immediately I shoulder all the stuff and headed over the rocks to the fishing spot where the fish are raring to get caught. But first what is that beautiful flower hidden in the brush over there.
It is a cactus with purple blooms in great quantity. The walk over was through hazardous territory covered with things to penetrate your body, but I lucked out and did not get perforated. The blooms were even better close up.
Now for some fishing. On down to the lake edge and with great anticipation about how big the first fish would be. An hour later not one bite and I was getting too hot. I had finished my liter of water already and decided to go home to the A/C. The truck said it was only 93, but the excessively bright sunshine was too much for me.
About 4pm there was some cloud cover, so back to fishing I went. The truck thermometer said it was only 103, but no bright sun. With the cloud cover surely the fish would be ready to feed. Naturally the first thing I did is break the tip off my rod. Back home I go. The decision was made to cut it back to the first eye and use it like that for now. The job is completed easily and back to fishing I went.
As I was fishing this time, the game wardens came by to check fishing licenses. Mine was in order and the warden asked how many I had caught. My tale of four days without a bite aroused some sympathy from him and he checked that I had the right lures and showed me how to rig the lure better.
He even told me a better spot to go to. At the end of the day I still had not had a bite, but often could see nice fish swim right past me. GRRRRRRR!!!!
Tomorrow is the big air show over at the Air Force base. Maybe it will make the traffic a little lighter on the lake. The fish can quit worrying about me catching them for a while, because I want to get my boat out and play with it for a while. Paddling time is required before I can continue to rig it for fishing.
Maybe tomorrow I will get a good paddling as I try to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM
