Blah Day

Fredericksburg, Texas
Hot today, heavy winds, heavy pecans coming out of the trees.
This morning started in the wee hours when I woke up feeling rather miserable. You know the feeling, first am I going to die then afraid you aren't. For all day until about 6 pm this evening all I did is lay around and occasionally check on some email etc. The most productive thing I did is gather infor for a list of state parks and COE parks that I can visit in Texas and N Mexico. That was about all the excitement except for those 38 pound pecans coming down on my roof.

A slightly different method of cooking my chicken breasts was tried for supper tonight. Mostly they are stir fried in a skillet with a seasoning or dressing on them. Tonight the wild idea was to try slooow cooking them in a regular pot with Zesty Italian dressing. After they had cooked enough to turn the outside white, I added a dollop of water, lightly sliced the outside several places, put the lid on, turned the fire fairly low and let them steam for 9 minutes. The final result was excellent flavored and perfectly moist. A little more of a preferred seasoning during the steaming will go in next time. With that, some mixed vegetables and diet Root Beer, I was set for the night.
Am I the only one who dislikes the stupid behavior of the Vista operating system???
Probably my biggest event was the evening sunset pictured below. A little walk was in order since I was feeling fairly well. Whatever it was that got me was a real stomper. With all this said I believe I will rest some more to try to be ready for having tooooo much fun tomorrow.TheOFM.

  2. Cinnamon rolls... That is one of my memories of visits to Fredericksburg. Hope you have a chance to check out at least one of the many bakeries there and their extensive offerings. One of those bakeries had the BEST apple strudel I've had the opportunity to eat.
