Started the day by paying rent and electricity. $239 was the cost for the month. Since the weather is still too cold for my liking to the north of us, I am signed up for another month right here. I have spent a lot of time looking for a better area and park in this part of Texas and have concluded for my criteria this is it. The only thing missing is a good, cheap golf course. There is good and there is moderate priced but not in the same package.
Itchy feet got me out for a drive up to Lake Corpus Christi located near Mathis. The drive up there was very boring like most drives through cotton growing country. The fields seem to have been prepared already for the crop. Lake CC is a very nice lake, but is an irrigation lake with a lot of runoff. This keeps the lake a little on the brown side. In the past I have caught a lot of fish from the pier in the picture. Right now the pier is shut down for some reason. They have a very large number of excellent campsites for RV or tent folks. The roads wind up and down and around to make for a nice bicycling event. In the summer the lake is great for water sports. Today it was blowing about 20 mph and the air temp was 43 deg. BRRRRR.
That was to cold for me to get out and try to have toooo much fun. TheOFM.
