Shopping Day

Kemah, Texas
WOW what a day. The day started with compiling a list of shopping chores and lunch with old friend George. By the way, that is a Christmas wreath above OF George not a halo no matter what he says.

The traffic in Houston/Kemah is very intense. My bet is that tomorrow I will need to at least double my blood pressure medicine. At least I only needed a map three times to find my way around. Fifty five years living here, gone 5 years and they moved everything around. I am certain a man of my young age (61) could not have forgotten near as much as the powers that be have moved around. At least the christmas shopping went well. Several presents were shipped by the stores to the lucky recipients. A few smaller ones will get wrapped and shipped out tomorrow. With the very small trailer I live in, there is not room to have a lot of presents laying around much less have room to handle wrapping larger boxes.

Old friend George took me over to a new Kellys restaurant. Kelly’s was very popular to us when we worked together a few years ago. They still put out the most decent food for the lowest cost in the area. He is working at company run/owned by a couple of very nice engineers I worked with many years ago. I actually got to see two other old friends while up in the office.

This evening old friend Charlie, his wife, granddaughter and I went to see the lighting of the Seabrook Texas Christmas decorations. His granddaughter sang a short solo part. The girl has a busload of talent and is very personable. She is in the third grade and a hoot to be around. Our group then went to the Italian Café on NASA 1 for supper. The owner, Frank, came by to visit and swap a few stories with us. A rather interesting and nice fellow he is. The food was just about the best I can remember having in years. Thank you Frank. Tomorrow we need to get some exercise trying to have tooooo much fun, TheOFM
